Lovesexy VS The Black Album - which is the greater album?

Which is the greater album? These two albums are strongly connected - so much so that they share a song it's as if they are siamese twins.

Please vote and discuss.

Back in the 80’s & 90’s I considered Lovesexy one of his greatest.
But nowadays I prefer to listen to the Black Album.

You can’t compare the two as they’re both the complete opposite.

But if you need a vote I’ll give it to the Black Album.

I think they're like yin and yang, night and day, negative and photograph. Both essential to each other, but I prefer the Positivity yes of Lovesexy.

Side 1 - GOD

Side 2 - SPOOKY ELECTRIC

People keep saying how "dark" TBA is, and yeah I can see that on the surface but on only a slightly deeper level the entire album is funny as hell, I laugh through the whole thing, it's pure comedy!!

For me... The Black Album. I think he accidentally made his most cohesive and startling album. One that I could not stop listening to and really listening to for every element of the mix and tone and vocal...

It's just an honest gut feeling, no matter how how highbrow the intention and process was making Lovesexy. It just doesn't gel and crystalize as an experience for me the same way.

Yeah, it's impish and slightly cynical, but I've never really felt that it was truly dark. That's always been the side of Prince that appealed to me the most, plus it's funkier, so I favour it over Lovesexy. It’s a close run thing though. I’ve never swallowed the whole “the black album is evil/dark night of the soul" thing though – that was just Prince mythologising in my view.

TBA clearly claims itself to be the "New Funk Bible, New Testament".

I wonder what Lovesexy is claiming itself to be?

Lovesexy

The album just has no many inventive, funky, and philosophical jams, like Eye No, Lovesexy, and Positivity plus Anna Stesia

Eye No = Le Grind

Alphabet St. >> Cindy C.

Glam Slam = Dead On It

Anna Stesia > Bob George

Dance On >> Superfunkycali...

Lovesexy >>>> 2 Nigs United...

I Wish U Heaven < Rockhard in...

When 2 R in Love = When 2 R in Love smile

Positivity >> no competion smile But even if there was another track, Positivity is one my favorite songs (check my signature) so it would be hard to top

You skip "When 2 R In Love" on the Black Album, but not on Lovesexy?
