I would like some information on Paisley Park please. I tried finding this information online already. I would like to know a lot more about Paisley Park. Any help or information is greatly appreciated.
1) What year did Prince purchase Paisley Park? 2) How much did Prince pay for it? 3) Was this originally zoned as residential, or was this an industrial building that Prince had zoned as residential? 4) What is the square footage of Paisley Park? 5) Is the song "Big White Mansion" about Paisley Park?
Any information is appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Much of the information you're requesting is on the PrinceVault website. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

Any information is appreciated. Thank you for your time. Prince used $10 million of his Purple Rain profits to have Paisley Park built in an existing industrial park. Construction began in 1986. Yes. This is such common knowledge that I'm wondering where you were looking for it. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that "Big White Mansion" (from Emancipation) was probably about Paisley Park. So here's where we're at:
1) Prince built it, started in 1986 and finished in 1988. 2) 10 Million 3) N/A 4) 55,000 square feet 5) Yes, probably.

I'm not usually one to quickly point out "use Google first", but in this case it really would have answered almost everything.

It cost 10 millon, but he didn't pay 10 million. If I'm remembering correctly, he paid 4 million and got help with the rest from the county in the form of tax breaks or something. I wish I could recall the article I read about that a few years ago. It was pretty crafty on his part.

I just had a thought, and I would like your guy's input.
If someone had the money to do so, couldn't they get the archetectural plans to Paisley Park, buy the land and build their own copy of PP relatively cheaply????
What are your thoughts on this? If you had the money would you do it? Or would it not be practical?

The cost of PP would be closer to $40m now. That's $25m for the inflated $10m price, plus all of the remodeling and expansion he did since then. There is no "relatively cheap" copy.

In my opinion, Prince built Paisley Park so that he could be in an environment where he could work as much as he wanted and nobody could stop him would you all agree?

There is a clip of him speaking to his audience in Minnesota...perhaps First Ave. He was dressed in that black crop top/black pants. I am paraphrasing, but he was speaking in a genuine voice and said that he felt the love from the audience and that he was going to build a "club-house" so that he could have a place to play for his fans. He said he would do it or die trying. It was also so that he could record anytime he wanted to. Jimi Jam said he was a gatherer and PP would be a place other musicians would come to play with him as well.

There really should be a blueprint of all its details. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

Great article on Fast Company's site from April 2017, including notes from Bret Thoeny, architect and owner of Boto Design Architects in Los Angeles, who designed Paisley Park, working closely with Prince: Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife.
