I think the first word of “Planet Earth” says it all. But the tragic deaths to these two peerless musical peace advocates during times of outrageous war and their tragic fates make them curiously intertwined.

Prince had far more anti-war songs than John Lennon and the US government was involved in only one (1) illegal unconstitutional war then — Viet Nam — during the Nixon Admin — not the eight (8) raging on during the #OBOMBA Admin when Prince was first invited to perform at the White House. I wonder if the still secret set list included any ant-war songs that might have been an affront to the Administration like “Lavaux” [“'Cause it took a black face to see the same decay”]. If they published it we’d know. It’s still amazing to say the least that not one of the 200+ guests leaked the full set list.

Anti-war songs, like "Give Peace a Chance," didn't exactly endear former Beatle John Lennon to the Nixon administration. [ NPR ]

Lennon's cover where we can see his dick is a wonderful artwork. Prince was somehow to prudish to dare that. Although I remember a performance (video) of some tour in 1980, where he openes his pants, and you can see his pubics, his pants nearly dropped. As cool a Prince was back then.

They can't always held responsible for made dicisions and attacks.

The US army business profits advantage to have as many bombings 'someshere/anywhere' going on. If not, their business doesn't pay off, they loose money, etc.

Don't forget the US army yearly gets 700 billion (!!!) dollar to spend exactly on what they want and like. See it like a game for generals. (let's not forget that the USA is the biggest seller of arms in the world! Also quite important $$, and a cash cow for the taxbox.)

Most generals decide what and where they bomb, without often even telling the whole story in detail to their president. And they will always lobby for having a few thousand soldiers stationed somewhere in a far away country. It asures their business and it justifies thier spendings.

Trump for instance right now surely did not want to kill that Iran-general. I'm sure it was not his dicision. He ants to stay as far away from these regions as possible.

Same goes for Obama or any other president.)

Can't stand this album, tribute or otherwise. One of the least played in my collection.

I think it's a stretch to call it a "tribute" to Lennon given how often Prince, and so many other musicians routinely write songs about "peace" or imagining a better world. Prince did that for years and quite often. If any of the tracks on it recalled or sounded like Lennon tracks I might agree with you but when I think "tribute", first thing I think of is "Dreamer" and that was for Hendrix.
