I like those and the piano purple rain he does at the piano the morning after Francis L shot himself. That simple piano piece where he is 'learning' it from Wendy n Lisa's cassette is sublime. "Climb in my fur."

The chord pattern for DO ME BABY, and FATHER'S SONG specifically the version in Purple Rain on that beat up old upright piano ... hands down to me the best things Prince ever did with a piano. [Edited 1/17/20 2:21am] www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Oh, come on, people. It's Condition of the Heart. Duh. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Many great ones have been hit. Father's Song comes to mind for sure. The Sexy Dancer piano solo I have memorized because it's so vivid. The faint piano at the end of It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night is always rattling around in my mind as well. But those aren't really melodies. So I think my favorite piano melody is When the Lights Go Down. He sets the mood so well and the melody is hidden there even while it seems like he's just improvising. [Edited 1/28/20 21:03pm]
