What other songs were recorded during the New Power Soul sessions? Does anyone have a list of unreleased songs that were recorded during the NEW POWER SOUL sessions? And any other Prince or Prince related songs that have that "New Power Soul" FEEL and VIBE to them in your opinion? Thank you.

There's an unreleased song titled 'Funk Radio' that was played as a short (one minute or less) sample on the NPGMC site that definitely carries that sound and vibe. I think Madrid 2 Chicago was one of Prince's solo albums recorded that year.

S&M Groove released on during the NPGMC era (and on one of the compilation albums) dates from NPS iirc.

You know, I was thinking... could it be that New Power Soul is a continuation of the EMANCIPATION sound??
Would you agree? | |

Yes, as is Rave and you can probably include the High sessions in that "era."

Would you agree? I think the New Power Soul album has a fuller, heavier production sound than Emancipation. I prefer the production on most of the NPS tracks considerably. I agree, as has been posted, that some of the Emancipation production sound returned for Rave. High again, to my ears, has a fuller, more richly produced sound. There certainly isn't anything that sounds like 'When Eye Lay My Hands on U' on Emancipation or Rave and songs such as 'Supercute' and 'When Will We Be Paid' (included on the original tracklisting) seem more considered also. * [Edited 1/9/20 16:36pm]
