Unknown Prince video edits?

Looking through the CrowdDJ app (Nightlife's system), I searched through Prince videos and found these (it's just a list, these are what I think they are): Much of these are already "known", right? But then these are from the early phase so they have the old logo animation on them.

*My Name Is Prince - Original promo clip without "news" intro (already-existing awareness)

*Gett Off - Edited version of original clip, uses album version

*Theves In The Temple - Original promo clip without intro (simple edit)

*Partyman - Original promo clip without intro (simple edit)

*Alphabet St. - Original promo clip

*Kiss - Longer 4:01 version of promo clip and original promo clip

*Raspberry Beret - See Gett Off

*Let's Work and I Feel For You didn't originally have promo clips, so they are possibly live performances

*I Would Die 4 U is edited to use the single mix.

On the other note, Alphabet St., Little Red Corvette, 1999, Sexuality, Controversy, I Wanna Be Your Lover, Purple Rain, Let's Go Crazy and When Doves Cry (Single Edit) are the original promo clips so they need nothing here.

For IWD4U - are you saying its the single mix (aka edited version from the album) played over the live show?

"Dirty Mind" & "Uptown" - slightly alt. versions of these videos that include more audience shots and crowd noise... Both have editing/timing cards in the intro from the editing company. They weren't released anywhere and don't believe they were ever brodcast... They just sit in a Warner video vault LOL
usually known as "Leaped7689"

Or maybe it's the Purple Rain clip edited to fit the single version (like the Purple Rain UK Long Version clip).

I've researched this and with maybe a few exceptions to be added later, I've listed all the alt. video edits on my website.

It's not. I realize now that I'm not sure what the OP is about. We're talking about alternative video edits, right?

I think he's suggesting that the studio version of the song is being played overtop the video of the live performance... which would make it an alt video. But perhaps I'm misunderstanding as well.

As the list is in chronological order they're all mixed-up with the rest year after year (videos that do not differ in any way from one of the audio edits aren't included but anything that has differences, including film noises or intros is included, including songs given to others). There is also an alphabetical list that can make it easier to spot different edits, but unfortunately I haven't been able to complete it beyong June 1986 so far. Hopefully I'll get aound finishing it within a few years but that's a considerable amount of work. Be patient smile It's also a good thing that the Estate chose to include all the video edits in audio on 1999 Deluxe, hopefully they'll do this with future releases smile
