Funny Prince story (will keep the teller secret)

So around the 3121 days and the house in LA, Prince was consistently inviting someone over. This person, just last week, worked with a friend of mine in Los Angeles. My friend works as an indie DP (cinematographer).

Anyway this guy back in the day (not my friend) was always being called to the house by Prince to check out things, listen to music, talk about plans, even just watch the band play in the basement makeshift concert setup. And of course eat. Prince was always having his cook make stuff to eat. Originally this guy was hired by Prince to work one specific technical task. He wasn't a Prince fanatic or anything. It kind of bloomed into a two year friendship during the "LA residency".

One day Prince asks the chef to make some eggs. Eggs are made and Prince and the guy and others are eating.

For whatever reason the eggs aren't really good. Maybe they were burnt or overdone?

Prince stops eating and says "These eggs are ghetto."

Then he calls the chef in and says "make some pancakes."

Moments later pancakes are served. Prince also gets what looks like a tall glass of apple juice.

Pancakes now in front of him, Prince pours the contents of the tall glass all over them. It was an entire glass of syrup! AN ENTIRE GLASS.

And he wolfs that shit down.

Doable.

Prince was a huge sweet tooth.

I seem to gain more in common with the great man each and every day. Have never gone quite as far as putting a whole glass's worth on my pancakes, though. Must try it. lol

I have a funny story from the 3121 era, and this is the perfect thread to share it: One of my friends is a make-up artist, and she and a partner were at Prince's house in LA to do make-up (not for him, for band members or dancers I suppose). As they were setting up, they started singing. Not Prince songs, because neither one was particularly a huge Prince fan, just random songs. They got into it and got a little loud, and then Prince's head pops around the corner. He stared at them for a second and finally, very deadpan, said "Uh...this ain't American Idol". He disappeared again and they both burst out laughing. This happened before she and I met, but once she found out I was a huge Prince fan she couldn't wait to tell me this story!

My friend wrote and performed a funny poem about being a Prince fan (https://www.youtube.com/w...u5v4uaWjTg) and there is a part of the poem where she described meeting him at the altar and her real boyfriend (now husband) is his best man lol lol

Sure enough Prince tweeted the poem. Im sure he chuckled when he first saw it.

"You know, this is funky but I wish he'd play like he used to, old scragglyhead son of a...*smack* OOH!"

So what does this say about Prince? He brings new meaning to 'sweet tooth'? I work for and make Haagen Dazs ice cream and it warmed my heart when I noticed all the Haagen Dazs in his Paisley Park fridge. This was after he left. I miss him dearly. He could have poured powder sugar over that syrup and I still would be cool with it.

You see, that's what I miss most about him, the little funny things he would do. My first after party was in a small club with no VIP section. They just roped off a section of booths and there they kicked it, Prince and the band. With his back to the fans several girls yelled out his name continously. Finally after a few minutes of that Prince turns around to the girls and with his index finger in front of his lips he shushed with bulging eyes. It was so funny! You knew he was playing but could tell he was serious too. They were annoying.
