As I posted in another thread, after listening to the story of 1999, Episode 3, according to Dez, if the track was hot but there was a mistake, Prince would put an explosion over it. There's our solution. Estate - put explosions on the rape references and release them babies!

Listening to all little glitches on this one and it's exactly the same as the one from decades ago only 'cleaned up', the original sounded clearer but the intro was shorter and on this release it's just looped.
BUt this is as usual with that Signe guy, he never releases anything interesting or better. I don;t know if he 'cleans' those old outtakes himself but if he does he seriously needs to clean his ears instead of those old bootlegs.

Yeah but this still sounds better than a lot of the official vault releases, whatever the case is. It just shows what can be done.

Buy better equipment to play your music on. Everything on the 1999 Deluxe sounds much better than this and like I said the original this Signe guy used sounded better than his new one.

I Love Galore. Without doing a side by side comparison I reckon they are on par with each other now. I think LUA has a little more tape hiss with is noticeable during the intro. Unfortunatly neither of them are Box O' Chocolates quality.

I'll have to double check the version in my collection when I get home. Maybe LUA sounds better than I remember. Which version do you have LG? I think the best version I have is on Blast from the Past Volume 1.

Eh, point taken, if it falls apart with some audiophile set up, but it's a Youtube stream, most of us are using apple earphones. Might even be the equivalent of what the guy used when he was cleaning it up. Listening to bootlegs benefits from crappy equipment, and let's not forget, Prince wasn't exactly a fidelity guy at that stage of his career. And granted, Tidal Hifi streaming with Apple earphones isn't going to be the best way to experience anything, but it's how most of us are listening (or the equivalent) and I should still hear clarity, brightness, and hell, even separation off the vault tracks, and it's not always there. The bass and background vocals on the first half of Irresistable Bitch is so muddy. Some of it sounds like low generation cassette, and the Linn Drum is the giveaway. Hell, we even get two versions of Something in the Water to hear the difference.
