Concerts with Prince playing no instruments

As you know during his great career there was more

than handfull of time when Prince

didnt play any instruments on stage.

Would you be dissapointed going to a Prince concert or did you witness his concert

and Prince didnt touch guitar or keyboard?

I like Prince as a singer and how he conducts his bands but Prince not

playing an instrument on a concert is a wasted opportunity.

I think that him avoiding guitar during Parade tour was a little bit forced

and Montreux 2013 concerts are def missing Prince jamming on guitar bass keys

3rd night was much better not because i like rock ,its because the concept seem more natural .

I don't know of a concert where he didn't play any instruments

I don't think he would be able to not play anything

.
I'll be honest, there are shows/performances where he did not play anything and I was a bit disappointed. But in some of them the songs were not something that made my love shout anyway.
Like the American Idol performance with the Twinz

.

I love the Parade tour 100%... BUT there is a part of me that wonders what it would have been like if the Family did not have to part, and he did not pull the Family members into the touring band to that extent. I think that made a big difference, in why he didn't play a lot of guitar. He did play guitar, just not his usually amount. He played a lot of tamborine, some organ.

I also think on the Parade tour, him exhibiting 'Christopher' the pianist might be why he didn't play a lot of guiter. He didn't play a lot piano either though.

i think he didnt play because electric guitar didnt fit the french vibe he was chasing at the time

Well I mean he did play guitar. Anotherlover had an electric guitar 'Middle Eastern?' feel

Alexis de Paris (played by Wendy)

He played guitar on Purple Rain and (Dance Electric, Paisley Park) and America

Didn't he play guitar sometimes on Sometimes It Snows in April?

I watched one recently where I don't think he did but I did skip around some so maybe I missed it. I think it was "Part 1 Montreaux" show or something. It was late in the game cause he had the afro going and I don't recall him playing much of anything.

To answer the OP's question, yeah, that's not very interesting to me. Neither is the idea of him just plaing one instrument throughout like P&M. I need that guitar in there somewhere.
