Live shows that were multicam shot... need to be released.

For example, "Lovesexy Live '88" needs a release with Lovesexy (if that gets released in a deluxe).

But I wouldn't mind if they skipped ahead to a deluxe "Musicology" and included the fierce, fierce show played Auburn Hill, MI 2004.

I am so happy they did put out the DVD of the Purple Rain show. "Irresistible Bitch/Possessed" & "Baby I'm a Star" creased out my VHS back in the day.

They've released two so far. It's the clear intention.

What I´d love to see is a multicam shot Sign o the Times concert because I didn´t get to see the tour and the movie is great but not really a live show. Or a Lovesexy show other than the one that was released.

.........and of course the 1984 First Ave birthday gig simply because I love the songs he played that night. I would love to see footage of him playing Something in the Water or Noon Rendezvous.

Technically, its already released.
If the Estate wants a multicam to release from that era, they have a fee options (main one being Met Center 1982 because it's such great quality)...

I do - a rerelease of P&R Live and this 1999 show. We also know the benefit show is in the pipeline.

I think that it could be very profitable for the estate to make all recorded live shows available. Who wouldn't want to buy copies of the shows that you attended over the years? Plus the opportunity to buy the shows that you wish you could have seen... I would be far more interested in that than having to buy full albums that I have owned for decades just to get a set of unreleased songs. I know that there is the argument that you can't make everyone happy but releasing all of the videos would do the trick. Just release everything audio and video. The technology is there to do it via streaming services. I hate to say because I prefer a physical copy of everything, but if it came down to the option of having to stream it or it never being released before I die.... Well folks I guess I'm going to have to make friends with technology. Just in case anyone from the estate is reading this, please release April 1st and 2nd 1993 Act I in Detroit , Columbus Ohio May 1998 show , and Columbus Ohio April 2004 Musicology. Video preferred but audio happily accepted. beg

I agree to a great extent. But before we get to 2004, let's think about a couple of things.

Sign O The Times was never in the U.S. (the edited movie aside)

Lovesexy Tour which saw a U.S. tour, but suffered with ticket sales. The Dortmund video is nice, but there has to be an even better quality copy out there from another date. I'd not even mind different shows edited together to get the best performances (maybe choosing from just 2 or 3 sources).

The Nude Tour never came to the U.S.

I think to round out the 80s (also including Parade tour) would be a great move. It'd ultimately cover 1982-1990. Then go from there.

The Toronto Lovesexy concert bootleg video is better than Dortmund from what I remember. Nude tour Spain would be very cool. Of course Parade...

But yes, if a multicam of a SOTT concert exists.

I would be heaps happy with a soundboard from one of the US LOVESEXY shows let alone a Multicam. I wonder if there was a house shot video from that parking lot private gig at Paisley 15/9/88. That would make a super nice extra for a DVD release of the 15/9/88 Met centre show with Sounds of Blackness and Wendy and Lisa guesting, and would surely be a fan favourite 😁

...also, if you are going to release the Dortmund Lovesexy show, why not add the aftershow at Große Freiheit 36 as an an extra (wasn't it shot by the same Film crew?) 😃

Are you sure it was the Toronto show? Because the snippets I´ve seen of that Lovesexy show were ok, but nowhere near as good as the Dortmund show. Not sure if a multicam Toronto Lovesexy show could ever come close to what that Dutch director (I can´t remember his name off the top of my head) did in Dortmund. I mean that show was superbly filmed and edited.

But if you´re right, then I would LOVE to see that Toronto show.

The Dortmund footage is great but I´ve seen it soooo many times and I´d love to see and hear Anna Stesia without the guitar malfunction.

^Not likely.

But I'm certain it resides within the vault.

Most of the rehearsals, soundchecks, and aftershows for the Lovesexy tour were actually captured with multi-cameras on film. So, if we are lucky, we'll get to see them one day in glorious hi-def quality.

A LOT of his live shit needs to be released with the quickness.

The only official aftershow CD we ever got wasn't real great.

One of the few good things that came in the wake of his death was a lot of this live material being shared and made more available.

Believe it or not, we've gotten TWO aftershow albums. Neither is great.

I feel like I've seen some of that Toronto show. Whatever doesn't abbreviate "Erotic City" and "Housequake" like the did later. He cout out "Erotic City" all together by the time he went to Japan for Lovesexy.

Part of that Rotterdam Parade show is floating around and the quality is good an dit's multi-shot. With some re-editing, it'd be a great release for that era, or just sections from different shows edited together. The same for SOTT or Lovesex would be great. Sections pieced together. It'd be fun. I could do without that Cobo Hall show. It's cute for the birthday part, but there are clearly better shows.

The Toronto Lovesexy show was a widespread VHS bootleg of the entire show. I watched it back to back with the official broadcast Dortmund show once. I definitely feel he was more in a zone in the Canada show. OH... this was not a pro shot show if memory serves.

Erotic City was dropped from the Japanese tour because of some kind of regard for offensiveness from what I read a while back. In the "west" it was always performed from what I understand.

Amen - Prince Estate if you are reading, there is a good revenue stream in his live concert footage alone. He was the ultimate live performer; of all the concerts I have attended Prince concerts were the most engaging, moving and entertaining. He was the only artist I witnessed that could actually sound BETTER live and in yo face. His voice was perfection. His guitar playing, next level. It was magical to witness him perform. Release the goods!!! 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
