Why Aren't Vault Tracks being released as their own Albums. Forgive me folks It was hard to come up for a title of this Question. I just want to know why Isnt Paisley Park releasing Unrelased tracks as stand lone Albums instead of including them on Deluxe Albums What Did I Expect from Deluxe Ablums? new editions of Albums with B-Sides & Extended versions, thats all.
What Did I Expect from the Vault? Unreleased Music in the forms of Albums- Albums that filled the gap between Princes Career, the stuff they including on these Deluxe Albums deserve their own indentity. We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.

It makes sense to package them together. 1999 becomes a release that hardcore fans can get behind and get excited about, while the vault tracks will get a wider audience, as well as putting them in the context of the era they were recorded in.
Although we do have configurations of something like 'Dream Factory' or 'Camille', for the most part, many 'albums' that the estate release might try to release will not be a finished work that P had ready to release.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

But No! Its Makings The TRUE PRINCE FANS buy what we Already have all over again and Thats exessive redundance. Just release Old Music as its Own entity thats what We always expected. It Keeps Prince Alive, these Deluxe Albums Just Makes His Career More Final.Prince Liked to Move Forward Deluxe Albums are looking Back! New Relases of Vault Songs in Album Form Keeps His Career Alive. These Deluxe Albums are killing two Birds with One Stone and Shorting the mystery of his creativity.1. I Have a Better Idea. Release the Deluxe Album as it should with B-Sides and Extended versions.2. Include a Companion Album from the Vault from the same era including Protege albums like a deluxe Vanity6 Album with unrelseased songs things like that. Either on their own schedule or apart of a package for fans to choose in a special order like he did the Truth & Kama-Sutra when he released Crystal Ball.We all want a big hit again because

The idea is gives a sampling of what else he was working on at the time, with an eye on what could have made the album. But we're not getting true outtakes of the Purple Rain or 1999 sessions, because Prince didn't always work that way, so I get some of the confusion. I guess if you just want to own the vault tracks you have Originals, or streaming options but no physical way yet, and it wouldn't hurt to break up the vault discs. The bigger problem is it doesn't sound like we're getting real vault music yet, they're tracks that circulated within his inner circle. If the vault was a myth and that's all there is, the quality is questionable on some of these tracks...and I think they know that, which is why they didn't market them as a standalone record.

Effectively that’s what we have. It’s just packaged alongside the album that it’s contemporary to. This gives it context. Also, compiling an album of random tracks might imply that it was an intended unreleased album that Prince made. The standard of the tracks would be held to a higher standard than if packaged as outtakes from a specific project that was released. Much the same effect as how we are more charitable about an ok bootleg track than an officially released one. If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it!

I agree with you 100%. I dislike those 'deluxe' albums. They are neither fish nor flesh, and do short on both the original album as on the vault tracks. I expected a VERY different handling of those vault tracks. This is nonsense in the actual format.

I think the way they are doing it seems pretty fair when you think about it (RE: above comments). Although I'm hopeful they will attempt to release something 'new' in the coming years. Something like Dream factory for instance would be great as there are exisitng Prince tracklists etc (Not sure how far he got in completing them though? so some tinkering would obviously be required). Camille should definitely come out (maybe for Record day next year?) [Edited 12/3/19 6:14am]

Put this song on Sign o the Times Super Deluxe and move on.

Unless they are an unreleased album(Camille, Dream Factory, Flesh Sessions etc) I see no reason overall.
It could be done. But not right now.

What's to explain? Almost all of these are known and circulated tracks that were passed around on cassette through his inner circle. Some of them even sound like they were taken off cassettes and not the masters. Assuming the myth of hundreds and hundreds of unheard tracks, non-stop recording, has any validity, and the Vault website isn't comprehensive. We're not getting full discs of real vault music that wasn't already distributed by him or related band members within his inner circle.

Deliverance was shockingly good, but someone took creative license to make it. This 1999 material wouldn't have really worked if they butchered several tracks to get an EP out of it inventing new songs.
