Prince Heirs Tyka Nelson, Al Jackson Sell Stakes to Primary Wave

A private Los Angeles publishing company specializing in talent management and music production now owns more than 30 percent of the Prince estate. Primary Wave, whose long list of clients include Cee-Lo Green, Melissa Etheridge and Cypress Hill, purchased a controlling interest in Prince heir Al Jackson’s inheritance shortly before Mr. Jackson’s unexpected death in the summer of 2019. Recent court filings indicate Prince’s sister, Tyka Nelson, likewise sold a “portion of her expected inheritance” to Primary Wave in a deal finalized earlier this month.
