I ordered the CDs. Amazon estimates my delivery date as being December 3rd. I have Amazon Prime, so I would have expected to get it the day of release or the next day.

If I see it in Barnes & Noble before it arrives from Amazon I'll pick it up and cancel my order.

Think about it.

The official release date is Nov 29th (the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday) when all such items are being pushed into the stores for holiday shopping.

December 3rd is the following Tuesday.

Are you suggesting the distributor will prioritize brick-and-motor retail stores for their CD inventory, which is why Amazon can't guaranty having enough supply to get everyone their disks on the release date or the following day?

I'm gonna be pissed if Amazon doesn't deliver my copy on November 29 I paid extra to have it delivered on the release date.I hate delays!

I knew I should've just taken the chance and got at Target. Target always has the latest Prince stuff I think they might work the Estate.

They don't charge until they ship so you didn't pay for anything yet. Go get it in a store.

I never understood pre-orders, isn't this always the risk / always what ends up happening? For every one-off story you hear of someone getting something a day or two early it's always a ton of people breaking down and getting it from store shelves day-of rather than wait another week due to shipping delay.

I preordered my 1999 Super Deluxe LP set because it was the cheapest I could find it anywhere. Still hate it that I'll have to buy the vinyl box just to get a full size booklet (I don't care too much about vinyl), but at least I've been able to order it at LESS THAN HALF PRICE from MediaMarkt Hungary, for £90.- incl. shipping. (The CD-version costs £30.- right now.)

Normally I would do this too, but release day is Black Friday. I'm not sure I want to deal with the crowds at Target.

Pre ordered because I want it physically. Fully expect it on the release date in the UK. But it doesn't matter either way because I'll still be able to listen to it on streaming services anyway.

I meant pre-order vs. go to a brick and mortar store to buy it. You know, physically.

Sufice to say tho that most of my Amazon orders get pushed back but still arrive at the original date, like with The BEautiful Ones book that I ordered from Amazon, that one was also pushed back to a delivery date of december 9 - december 20 but arrived last week.

Wow, I hope you don't have to wait until mid-January. That would suck.

For most music by other artists I buy the download version. I don't need a physical CD. It's just cluttter and I don't have space for it. Besides, I'm no audiophile and can't tell a difference in sound quality between downloads and CDs.

But when it comes to Prince I want the actual physical CD. I want a tangible object to hold and to display on a shelf. It's a sentimental need rather than a practivel need. It's just that I'm such a big fan of his and he's played such a large role in my life.

I just checked my Amazon order and they're saying that my Deluxe Edition will arrive on November 29 as planned I hope they're right

I'd be demanding discounts for playing with your emotions like that.

Well spotted but when you get to the address details for the cd it says only ships to Hungary not internationally, so what did you do?
