My favorite story (which I read on here years ago) was during rehearsal for the Superbowl. Apparently he hit his head while on a riser and let out an audible "muthaFUCKA" while the mics were on.

Whose swear jar did he use "You know, this is funky but I wish he'd play like he used to, old scragglyhead son of a...*smack* OOH!"

Haha
I read a blind item a few years back that he still was swearing just was more privately. Old habits died hard. Prince was making his concerts family friendly since his hardcore fanbase were becoming grandparents he wanted them to bring their grandkids to the concerts and along with his JW he decided not to act racy anymore. More family friendlier more $$$.

When God really changes us one of many, many results is we simply don’t swear anymore. There’s no effort. It’s just something that happens.

I would think he would drop a word every now and then. He wasnt always following JW. Like how George Lopez gave him a purple hat and before he opened he said he doesnt accept gifts cause of JW but when he opened and saw how fly the hat he told George oh Im definitely keeping this and was strutting with it. "You know, this is funky but I wish he'd play like he used to, old scragglyhead son of a...*smack* OOH!"

I have the video and just went to that point in the concert. He clearly says "We can't play that, Sheila"

It was pretty much an open secret that P was lossening up toward the end a bit. From what I'd heard from a few people, they confirmed the rumor that "if he got tipsy enough, he'd turn back into the old Prince" and as he started moving away from the rigidity of the JW, he wasn't too concerned about others' language in his presence anymore and that it was more about intent than the words themselves. Publicly, though, he wanted to be professional and also didn't want to be disfellowshipped again. Yes, he was disfellowshipped around 2009/10 (one of the reasons why he and Bria split) and had to "work his way back" to their graces - mainly because of the money he provided, but he was already seeing the cracks in it all. It kind of falls in line with the statistics that about 30% of disfellowshipped ever come back, and when they do, they leave soon after on their own accord. But yes, from what I was told by various people, he was cursing seldomly in private, unintentionally usually, but sometimes out of sheer frustration or humor.

was it attributed to a particular incident? "You know, this is funky but I wish he'd play like he used to, old scragglyhead son of a...*smack* OOH!"

From what I was told, it was a number of reasons. He was tiptoeing back to more sexually and spiritually "risque" music (according to the JW doctrine). He was also beginning to openly question his Biblical studies with the organization - specifically those regarding other Biblical translations and opposing Christian views on sex, justice, racism, and more importantly, health. Questioning and opposing are no-no's. He was disfellowshipped for a few months, but by 2013/2014 (or maybe sooner) he was an inactive member. Never kicked out again. Just stopped going. That is why he was still given a JW memorial service.
