I dont think the estate thinks re-releases and unfinished works are going to do any kind of numbers, its a lot on this forum that thinks Prince is going to chart platnum albums and top 10's still. I dont get that thinking since Prince's sales when living were not steady, he hit his peak and then it dropped, I mean he had a number one debut in 3121 with no kind of airplay and 99.9% of the world never heard of this record, that is just reality that fans need to realize. NONE of these reiusses will do major biz, 1999 and Purple Rain are it, and even 1999 is a loyal fan only, your are not going to have new fans hitting up the shops for $200 box of albums or 60$ box of cds and a dvd. Young people already don't know who Prince is. Each passing year fewer people are interested. 10 years after his death most all will have moved on. In 20 years he will be just a distant memory.
The next sadist time will be when the family gives up on funding Pailsey Park because it can't sustain itself long term.
I've been a fan for 35 years. I hate to see it come but all things come to an end. | |
