To me I could see this as the guide vocal for Morris. I could imagine when he decided to keep it for himself he probably decided to go full power with a falsetto vocal take instead, but I welcome any thoughts/citations to the contrary.

Glad to see some sense has prevailed and this thread has been unocked.

Hopefully each track will get it's own thread upon release.

Personally I'm glad this was the first taste we got of the vault discs.

For me the stuff I'm looking forward to the most is the totally unknown stuff and the other known outtakes in top notch sound quality. So kind of want expeirence them all for the first time on the same day so they don't get over played. When Originals came out I had really worn out Nothing Compares 2 U, which would have been the highlight of that set on release if that was my first exposure to it. It's only after laying off it since the originals release it's power is coming back.

The least Interestng things were Lady Cab Driver / I Wanna Be Your Lover / Head / Little Red Corvette (tour demo), International Lover (Take 1), Something In The Water and How Come (longer Version).

That is not to say I have no interest in them.

This take of International Lover is great, highly enoyable and I can hear why It's been included. I was a bit worried after reading the description that it would be full of Prince and Morris joking and messing about, but that is really kept to a minimum and doesn't distract from the son at all.

Prince's vocals are great, the piano playing is amazing. I would probably still overall plump for the finished album version as my favorite but this is a great version and a great start to such a mouthwatering set.

Was never a huge fan of the original recording on 1999, a bit thin-sounding and overwrought vocal. This is more laid-back and sounds much warmer. Prince's piano playing is stunning and Morris on the drums is always going to be awesome. It's still a pretty weak song IMO, but an enjoyable release neverthless.

Pure bliss. For a lot of people this would be a damn showcase. For Prince, it's clutter in the closet.
