I synced this song to my MP3 player by random choice, and had listened to it on repeat the past few weeks.

Now it's grown onto me, especially the lyrics - it seems Prince was saying that humanity's perception of life should be humble and kind.

"Style is the face you make on a Michael Jordon dunk... Style is a non-violent march... Style is buying your mom a house... Style is no fear of death"

Prince could put the lyrics into a up-tempo dance track or a low-tempo, minimalist track and the lyrics would still be inspiring.

I also like the breeziness of the melody, something I'd hear in a cafe.

I think it's one of the best songs off Emancipation.

There is a lot of good stuff on this album, but it is tucked away between quite some crappy songs as well.

There are also excellent outtakes: 2020, I Am The DJ, Slave 2 The System, to name a few.

It's one of my personal favourites from the album, honestly. I generally prefer the uptempo to downtempo stuff on Emancipation, and especially the third disc (or last two LPs, lol).

Love it! Espacially the bridge. Also the bass-sound is real nice. Emancipation is a grower!

Never really got into it a stand-alone song but always appreciated it within the context of Disc 3. In other words, never played the song by itself but never skipped it when playing the entire disc.

Not too crazy about this track.Disc 3 is my least favorite.Several of those songs I have to skip.

I'm especially fond of the bridge part with a great saxophone in it (Leeds ?)

Also like his playing around with the voice pitch.

That breeziness feel is due to the (wah-wah) guitar effect part, imho.

The song also has a tongue-in-cheek vibe to it.

Still, I never liked the production and sound of this album.

Maybe Joshuaworld needs to remix this album with (even) more wooshes and whirles ?!

Nyways.

I bought this album agian 2 weeks ago as a 6 vinyl box set.

Listend to it several times again.

Still can't change my mind(set) over this release.

It's silly but fun. Good beat/groove.

It's fun to hear P. talk through the song and

pretend to be a stoner getting high.
