On Saturday, September 28th, Paisley Park celebrates the return of live music with Minneapolis' very own, Nooky Jones. Does anyone have pics of "Prince's NPG Music Club" area near the legendary Paisley Park Soundstage???

According to Paisley's publicity to attract conventions and private events, the NPG Music Club is 3400 square feet.

I've been there twice in that room during Celebration this year and last year. They had a bunch of chairs facing the stage and there's been panel talks in there. The one last year was a panel talk with Mayte and one of the Twinz, and this year it was a NPG / Funk Soldiers panel with Kirk, Fish, Renato Neto, Chance Howard.

Rock N Roll Love Affair and the scene where Prince is walking through the crowd and sitting on a couch in Somebody's Somebody video was also shot in there. It pretty much looks the same now as when Prince passed. They took out a table that was in the corner under the big , removed the carpet that was in front of the stage, and removed an ottoman that was along a wall on the opposite side of the room. The last party on that Saturday was the only time the DJ both was set up on the stage, it was normally set up to the right of the stage and the stage was set up for Prince to play whenever. Prince first started using this room for parties/concerts in the fall of 96. The stage was set up under the big and DJ Jules used to be set up at the top of the stairs. The entrance to the room, just past the restrooms is all open space now, there used to be a wall and just one door to get in. A lot of great memories in this room!

I haven't been to Paisley Park and I am confused about the rooms there.... What room did Prince play the gala performance in January 2016 and where was his final appearnce for the dance party?

The Gala performance was in the soundstage. The final dance party he started in this room talking and had us go to the soundstage and showed us the new Yamaha piano and guitar. He then went back to this room and sat on the stairs while they played about the 1st half hour of the 2nd Atlanta show. The party was going on in both rooms, as it often did.

He had DJ Pam The Funktress there. She was set up on the stage in the NPGMC room and you could hear the set in the soundstage also. People were hanging in both rooms. They were showing video from the D&P tour, but no sound. At some point Prince and Kirk got on the stage in the NPGMC room and Prince talked about the airplane incident a bit, thanked Kirk for helping him with the P&AM tour and told him he loved him like a brother, and that he wanted us to go to the soundstage so he could show us his new piano and guitar. He said they would be playing some of the 2nd Atlanta show and that he was thinking about releasing it, after they edited out the people screaming. Once over there, they unveiled the piano and Prince played a little bit of Chopsticks. Some guy was taking video with his phone and Prince called him out and told him he wasn't supposed to be doing that. Security came and got him. He then showed us the guitar and talked about how he wanted to focus on piano and that he hadn't played the new guitar. I went back to the NPGMC room after he was done talking and he came and set on the stairs and listened to the Atlanta show. Tyka came and sat behind him. Omarr was around that night too. Hannah and Josh were there too.

Wow sound like a cool night Motherfunka! Sure would have liked to been there!

I wonder did the guy taking the video get to keep his phone and the recording he got or did security make him delete his video footage?

This is the first time I heard Omarr was there that night.

I remember having Prince a foot away from me DJ'ing & playing videos in that room at the 1st celebration. I also saw what I think was Blackwells first live show w/ the band back in sept 2000. He opened by playing a really cool instrumental that seemd to have an egyptian vibe to it & he closed the set with Commons "The Light" w/ kip, amazing jam filled show. Anyone else at this one?
