Launch event for "The Beautiful Ones" in London on 4 November: "part tribute, part gig"

4 November in London:

.

Celebrate the launch of Prince’s memoir The Beautiful Ones in true Book Slam and Penguin Live style this November.

.

Penguin Live are bringing together a collection of the best poets, performers, writers, musicians and artists to do their thing at our art deco theatre in honour of one of the most talented, beloved and original artists in history.

.

Featuring Dan Piepenbring, editor of The Beautiful Ones who collaborated with Prince in his final days, when Prince was thinking deeply about how to reveal more of himself and his ideas to the world. More phenomenal contributors to be announced.

.

Part tribute, part gig, come and remember the greatest pop star of his era and a true artistic visionary at this unique live event.

.

Thanks Bart.

I’m up for this.

Ticket prices includes the book, so it’s kind of a free event. We’ll see whether it turns out to be “Phenomenal”, but free is a good start.

Hope to see some of you there.

mnfriend

Eric Clapton brought me to tears with a minute left, now here is an Englishman who can soulfully wail a guitar in real tribute:

Purple Rain - The Prince Classic by Eric Clapton 2019 at Crossroads

I don't think he will show up, but he has been closing his sets with Purple Rain.

Looking forward to the book.
