Thanks, Love2thenines. Appreciate it.

I just hate that I have to wait 2 months and almost 3 weeks to hear it. Damn!

It sounds like a couple of the outtakes were in his rockabilly vein...

Man, during this time, he sure had a serious case of the Rockabillys....

Jack U Off, Delirious, Horny Toad, etc....

I think Michael Howe is wrong on the edits crap.
Why cater to this annoying minority of crazed collectors? Just give us the full/extended versions and be done with it

I love how he mentions that they added Colleen because it would be viewed as a glaring omission otherwise while not addressing the giant elephants in the room.

At least the comment section isn't letting him get away with it lol

Finally some mention of how the remaster of the album will be like...so happy to hear some good news on that front.

I noted they did not mention How Come U Don't Call Me...damn. I am super excited about that one.

Hearing that track in perfect quality may be the thing I'm most excited about.

Interesting answer about "Raspberry Beret":

Something that I was looking for that is rumoured to exist is a 1982 studio version of ‘Raspberry Beret’, which I simply have not found – and this is conjecture, I don’t know with certainty – but I think it’s because the two inch master that ended up being released on Around the World in a Day was basically an embellished version or an overdubbed version of whatever Prince started in 82. So there’s no distinguishing characteristic, enough, to determine, at least from the track sheets and the notes, what might have been from 82…

We can argue the sound quality of Bold Generation will be "bad" as Wouldn't You Love To Love Me?

I have a theory that they haven’t found it because Prince, either mistakenly or on purpose, mislabeled or misplaced the master tapes for some tracks. Or he might have just did as Michael said here or just put them in the garbage. Hopefully they just haven’t found everything yet

Sounds like it.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is picked as a promo single for the new package. Any promo is likely to be one of the main tracks, as the 2 disc set is the one to sell to the mass market.

Although the alternative version isn't on the first 2 discs, the song itself is of course on the main album, so the 'alt' mix might be a good way to promote all versions of the set.

And of course, it would make a great single, full stop. And the 'Alt' version has dated better due to the lack of electronics on it.

I was sure 1999 wasn't gonna be released this year because of Micheal Howe. Judging from the past, he kept putting it back, so why would he change his mind and release it this year? He has all the power after all. Now it turns out Howe is promoting this year after all. That's just really weird.

I don't think he has the power to choose what is released when.

That said, whether is was him or the label, they may have chosen to release it now, to make up sales in this financial year due to the lack of sales of Original.

What's clear from the 1999 formats, is they are testing whether a limited sales volume at high cost is more profitable that a 'mass market' push.
