Prince and the Temple of ECK

Were there any reports of Prince visiting or engaging Temple of ECK? For those that don’t know, Temple of ECK headquarters is located in Chanhassen.

Prince famously joined JW in the 90s. However, Prince’s early and later spiritual lyrics seem to reflect some understanding of Temple of ECK’s philosophies. LoveSexy and Art Official Age come to mind. Paisley Park’s architecture seems similar to the Temple of ECK building, too. It’s HQ was constructed 1985, two years before Paisley Park.

Random - is that amazing photo at the source site really a shot of Chanhassen? Looks like Europe or something. I wonder how well Temple of ECK is embraced within the local community?

I have seen this building and drove up to it. Princes house on Galpin was pretty much directly across the lake from it. I’m sure his they probably took design ideas from Paisley. Back in the late 80’s Chanhassen was still fields.

Pardon. I misspoke. Paisley Park building design dates back to 1987. Per Wikipedia, Temple of ECK bought its land 1985 however the ECK building, which bears no small resemblance to Paisley, was completed 1990.

Some articles say the religion was founded in Las Vegas in the 60s before it bought Chanhassen land for its headquarters in 1985.

No conspiracies, but some undeniable coincidences. Being within such close distance to each other, I can see how ECK beliefs might have inspired some of Prince’s lyrics. The 90s Love Symbol album’s segues and lyrics also alluded to some of the beliefs. Would be interesting to hear stories of encounters between the two over the years.

WHAT resemblance to Paisley? A differently-shaped pyramid, a different light color, obvious different building materials and color. Built

My doctor's office in Layton, Utah had more resemblance to Paisley, before they remodeled. IHC Clinic, Layton, Utah

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.
