I think it's in the performance of Motherless Child at PP where he takes off the One Eyed Bass when he's done with it and slides across the stage, and not gently. I remember wondering if it was beat up at all because of that.

And that's just one example! I'm sure he didn't really care about such things.

Seriously? You've never looked closely at the Telecaster/Hohner Madcat copy that he played for years and noticed how beat up it was?

Get the "Guitars" book from the estate; there's hi-res photos of the front and back of it. i've seen it on display, too -- and it looks even worse "live". He tossed it, it was repaired, wash, rinse, repeated for years and years.

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

That bass was totally destroyed. It had vertical stress cracksup the frets. I held it before the Northrop Show and it was absolutely thrashed. He played it that night. Last time I remember him playing it. The next year it was mounted on a wall

I just saw the Hohner (behind glass) at Paisley Park in July. It was very beat up! You never really see that stuff on camera. I have the guitar book but haven’t opened it yet.

Actually it's quite unbelievable, the book has very few 'written' information, but it has countless mistakes and wrong info.

Who the hell was paid for that ?

Shame on her or him or them !!!

Hardly understandable !

If you like, here's a guy explaining all the mistakes as well as more/extra information not in the book.

It's a very good 30+ minutes page by page explanatory of Prince's guitars used for various gigs and videos:

Just watched Milan 2010 Purple Rain performance, he instead laid the guitar down on the stage. I guess he doesn't always throw it.

But it's interesting that , it was mentioned that his guitars were beat up. I wouldn't've thought that was how he cared for them. I thought they would be taken care of so they don't break but that's a new aspect of him I never knew. cool

And that top 5 if not lower of one of the best performances of the song he has given.

"Climb in my fur."
