I don’t understand why a Prince fan wud purposefully not buy a new Prince album. Is that $10 really gonna break you? It’s a couple Starbucks Frappuccinos.

.

Not every Prince fan cares to have a copy of everything. I can think of lots of artists I consider myself a massive fan of but don't care to buy a copy of everything put out by them or their estates. I'm sure you can too.

prince ain't like anyone else, usually, when other dead artists have releases, they are rejects or rehashes from when they were alive, or even fakes as in the case of some MJ and Hendrix releases. Elvis had remixes that he'd probably not approve of, some good, some just ok but I can't get too excited over those, even though i loved the London Symphonic album of Elvis' that was released a couple years ago. Prince has albums and albums of stuff that we haven't heard. the piano and the originals and the Purple rain release has lots of stuff i never heard, not all of us got ahold of all the bootlegs.

I think that's the hope, at least from me. If they don't sell anything they'll stop doing it. It's business, prince is gone so no one is gonna care about the artistic aspect of it from their end.

Not everybody wastes all their money. $10 is a 48 oz can of ground coffee that can make a month's worth of cold brew for me and the "x is only a price of cup of coffee" excuse is financial death by a thousand cuts.

Streaming. I have Spotify and Apple Music. And I believe my Amazon Prime account also offers me streaming.

I'm hoping someone rich buys everything in the vault. Not for the potential business gains/losses, but to own it. And then share it, because the new owner is already rich. It's a piece of history and has tremendous value. Once the estate is settled and all legal aspects are sorted out, if we don't get what we want (more or less everything in the vaults), I hope the estate goes bankrupt, that the vault is auctioned, and orgers pool funds to buy it.

I've got a Spotify account, and all the songs have been uploaded to YT. I want to look at the liner notes, but I'm going to wait and borrow the physical copy from the local library.

[Flame snip - luv4u]. I bought Purple Rain Deluxe.

Purple Rain, a disc of vault songs, a disc of singles/12 inch mixes, a DVD, a nice booklet and autorip digital edition for $25 shipped is much easier to justify than $12 plus the cost of shipping for a barebones CD I can listen to for free through a number of legitimate sources or a historical oddity like P&M83.

If the estate wants my money, they can work for it by bringing the content and the value. They aren't entitled to my money for existing.

Right. If anything, it only proofs that Starbucks coffee is too expensive. been there once to pleasure the girls, but the appeal of the place is totally lost on me. They dont even have service, you need to give your name, imagine! And the coffee wasn't that superb either.

One of the reasons I didn't buy it because I don't believe that this is something that Prince would ever have considered releasing. Same goes for P&M. Not saying I know the guy. But neither are in keeping or consistent with what he released in his lifetime imo. I reckon they have much better things they could release... What are they waiting for?

so the idea is give in and buy what THEY think THEY should release...just to keep them financially willing to release ANYTHING? no one cares about his fans

Getting AUDIO material from the Vault was a good iea but I would to see NEW VIDEO MATERIAL.

I did not buy Originals but I am tired of all these audio releases, and I am not passionate abotu protege tracks either.

Please the estate, give us something we have not seen 'officially' before. The First Avenue 1983 concert video could be an example. Idiots removed it from the PR Deluxe package.

I didn't, and, although I would dearly love to, (don'y judge) my parents won't let me.

They're a little conservative, and while my dad likes a few of Prince's songs, a lot of the songs on the Originals album were deemed inapropriate.

I'll buy it one day though. I want to get the vinyl.
