Prince’s Caribbean escape just sold, and you may soon be able to rent it
If $11 million was a little much for your budget but you’re still hoping to vacation like a Minneapolis music legend, good news: Prince’s Caribbean estate has sold to a buyer who says he plans to rent it out when he’s not using it, and yes, he’s keeping the purple driveway.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Tom Barnes, a businessman from North Carolina who’s also a longtime Prince fan, paid $10.8 million for the estate, which Prince bought several years before his 2016 death and Prince-ified in high style. The late star’s estate has been trying to sell the estate for the past few years, hoping to make as much as $15 million but finally settling for just a bit more than Prince paid originally.

Wonder if the money from this sale will go towards the taxes.

We dont know if there was a mortgage attached to this house or if he paid cash.
The house is never listed on the Estate inventory because it is located out of the country. |

Yes,
If you look at Kiran's video of the drive down the road, it shows it is purple. |

Looks recently repainted. I always wonder though, at what hardware store in t&c can you walk in and say, "I need 200 gallons of purple concrete paint, please?" And the MUSIC continues...forever... |

I can't get the full article because I don't subscribe to the NY Times, but what is this about?
Two years ago, Andrew Intrater’s Manhattan private equity firm was thriving. He had rubbed elbows with billionaires at President Trump’s inauguration. And he had a lucrative investment involving the heirs to the fortune of the musician Prince.

I think this article should have a separate thread.
I am confused how he has an investment with the heirs.
He lent 3 heirs $10 million till the estate is settled and they get their cut. |

So now we know....it is all about the money and not the legacy.

Did it say which heirs? What's going to happen if they don't even get 10 mil each? Sheesh. |

The article I read did not name the heirs. Here is a legal filing. Starting on page 21 of 58, there are details of the loan:

Yes and the legal file from my previous post has the dates as well. The heirs are excluded from the freezing of the accounts (if I read it correctly). I just grazed over it. |

Is this Jacqueline Nicholson the same woman in the invesitgation files that was playing phone tag with investigators? She claimed that she was engaged to Prince in 2007? She claims she has memories of how he got his drugs per the voicemail she left in the investigate files.

I gave to much credit to the younger ones, thinking they would be the ones to protect the legacy. |

It has always been about the money. They didn't care for him. He was their cash register, pure and simple. The saddest part of this is that he apparently had no one who truly cared for him, no one he could trust with his legacy and indeed his life. |

I'm sure his family gave him plenty of reasons to keep them at a safe distance. Sorry to say, I believe he isolated himself from the other people who did care about him. |
