What's the atrocity? I thought it was cool that he paid homage.

It looks like a plastic stunt-ass like Janelle Monae wore for her "tribute." I think Prince and Howard Stern are the only ones to go full-ass with these kind of outfits.

LOL!! I was reading on Yahoo about the awards round up and saw that Lizzo's performance featured some back up dancers in cloud looking outfits reminicent of the Rasberry Beret video. Cool to see a couple of Prince touches in there. cool

Nice tribute! idk who he is, but he pulled it off. If y'all want new folks to be turned onto Prince and his music, you gotta quit nitpicking every little thing that anyone does to pay tribute to the guy. Jeeezuz.

Y'all gotta settle. Even Stacia Lang put it on her Instagram (since she created the original, which - by the way - didn't have his buttocks exposed, it was an illusion). There have been others (shown on said Instagram) that have done this.

Moreover, did y'all see how Lizzo paid tribute to Prince on MTV VMA? The tan and white shoe lace jacket (the behind the scenes video from 2004 or so), and the sky blue and cloud unitard's that throw back to "Raspberry Beret". Lizzo said Prince taught her to "perpetuate positivity". The Org could use a dose of that.

Seen it, quite a few nods to Prince that night. He is missed by more then just us.

Yeah, I talked to the lady that did fabrics and colours for Prince in Minneapolis (she had an exposition in a small Minneapolis museum) and she mentioned that indeed, she made fabric in his skin tone for those pants.

Thinking about it, having the ass exposed will create many problems for the pants to fit right. The tailoring would be a nightmare. Kind of like the same issue that car makers have to get a convertible car to still handle well, the dynamics handle quite differently when you get rid of some of the support.

Wasn't Prince's outfit actually ass covered material? I recall that photos of the outfit emerged after he passed.

RIP sad

There was "flesh" colored material, but wasn't it also see through? Otherwise, how would you get the "crack" area to look natural? It was still his ass but with that sheer skin toned material over top.

I guess the only thing that would be considered atrocious about it is Bobby Lytes himself.

He's a cast member of Love and Hip Hop Miami.

He's what would be considered as a "messy queen" who yells when he talks, starts fights and backstabs friends.

On the VMA's he was admittedly drunk, desperately hogging the aisles for camera time and doing the most to get Li'l Nas X's attention.

So I guess for people in the know it was atrocious.

Maybe.

I don't know.

But it was a good homage because it put attention right back on Prince.

And the outfit was on point.
