My brother has the yellow and blue ones. He has been waiting for the white one to come back into stock was originally told they would not be. Good to see them back for sale. from what I understand these are too small [obviously 3/4 scale for the wee man] & don't play particularly well in comparison to other high end brands out there. Needless to say P could make rubber bands on a card board box sound like heaven...so don't be disappointed if you still sound like shit when you plug this in!!.
If you are a novice & buying this guitar please try to search out his pedal rigs....pluggin this into a practice amp ain't gonna make you play the solo to Let's Go Crazy any time soon!
The price is fair given the connection etc...the guitar is only ever as good as the player!!! [Edited 6/28/19 8:12am] |

Gotta love the morans on Facebook who were whining "Prince would hate this". They're such "huge fans" that they feel the need to speak for him yet are ignorant that at multiple times Prince himself sold copies of the Cloud.

Very good point. I actually had one of these in my "cart" ready to buy. It was going to be the neck-thru design (they also offered bolt-on necks). I had the money, but it really wasn't in the budget. Still isn't, almost 20 years later.
I also remember not being really psyched about the "pearl" white they offered way back when.

I've never plugged one in. They currently remain in their purple cases until I'm able to locate two perspex guitar display cases for my wall. The display cases I've seen so far are crazily expensive You'll never know a girl called Nikki and you'll never find Erotic City |

That’s too much for a Korean-made guitar that doesn’t play particularly well and doesn’t even have the correct pickups. |

Gotta love the morons that would pay $1750, for an imitation guitar just because Prince once played it. I'm sorry, but I just don't get it, and it just doesn't make sense to me! It's not like you're getting a piece of Prince! The man is dead and gone, and he's never coming back, so what's the point? It's not like Prince is aware of any of it anymore, that man and his time on earth is no more! I guess as I get older, I just realize that in the whole scheme of life, and in the end, it really means nothing, because one day, it will all pass away, and we won't care about any of it, Lord knows we can't take it with us, just like Prince couldn't take anything with him. Everything he had, all the money, Paisley Park, guitars, cars, music, etc etc etc.....all was left behind! I guess he knew that, that's why he didn't bother to leave a will, because in the end he knew that he wouldn't care about any of it, because it wouldn't be his concern anymore, and would mean absolutely nothing to him after he was gone! Spend your money on something else that would be more beneficial to you or someone else that may need it, other than a idol worshiping prop, that in all honesty, means nothing, and will most probably end up as another piece of clutter that you have no need for. |

Well, 1750 dollaris isn't that much for a signature model guitar these days.
It's pretty much the same amount of money that you have to pay for an american made Fender Stratocaster when they are imported to Europe. There are budget brands available that play reasonably well these days, but for anything else you can expect to pay a lot of money in 2019.
From what I can tell from the specs, they shouldn't be bad guitars. Especially if they are real Schecters, or follow their standards.
Btw, the Schecters are essentially guitars designed for hard rock / heavy metal styles. They "don't play well" if you're going to try to play funk licks or rootsy blues-rock stuff on them. Prince usually just played solos on them himself - the outher stuff was played on the Telecaster-style guitars either by him or another guitarist.
I probably won't be getting one though.

If I were to ever get one, it would most likely either hang on the wall or go into a glass case. It would be just for display, so one of the cheap knockoffs ($300) would probably work just as well for that purpose!
Some people want to display what they love, either in a "man cave" or a music room. I myself was never into sports much (not even watching), but I can see the appeal of having sports posters or memorabilia on display.
And, some people have quite a bit of disposable income. I don't, so even the purchase of a knockoff would take a lot of consideration.
For now, I'm very happy with my $30 miniature peach Cloud replica for my cubicle at work!

Same here... If I were to buy one it would be for display purposes only, so I don't care if it's a cheap knock-off that doesn't sound good.
I'm not sure which one I'd get. The white cloud is the most iconic and the one mostly likely to be recognized by non-hardcore Prince fans. But it's not my favorite. I'd prefer the peach one from SOTT. Acutally, I'd prefer a replica Hohner over any cloud guitar.

This is exactly what I did. I play guitar so have guitars I use all the time that play well. I just wanted a Cloud to have on display. Paid £600 for mine from a supplier in China. I could choose the colour of everything so I went for purple with gold parts.
I was a little disappointed that the finished article didn't play that well, but as its just for display I can live with it. The Cloud doesn't have a scratch plate so any sort of continued play probably wouldn't do the paint job much good anyway. It looks absolutely fantastic in its display case, no regrets in purchasing it, my fave piece of Prince memorabilia I own.
Even if I had the money I'm not sure I'd get one of the expensive Clouds that plays better. Seeing anyone else but Prince play a Cloud just looks wrong ... I'd rather spend the money on getting a nice Gibson Les Paul or proper Fender Tele.
