I LOVE the revamped live versions of Vanity 6 live. The Time slayed backing them! "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream."

Prince is not really endorsing MaxFactor etc with this song, he's objectifying it in a farscical way the same way he objectified anger/violence on other songs (black album, ALHNYH, etc).
Prince's over arching carnal-meets-spiritual message was about being “nude”—sans all artifice, clothes, makup, fake wordly pretensions. This message comes through in songs like Paradigm and Prince, LoveSexy album covers.

I loved his takes on new wave. This one should be played loud. "Climb in my fur."

SanDiegoFunkDaddy said: I wish there was an instrumental version. I can't listen to a grown man talking about putting on makeup "Climb in my fur."

Great song! Totally New Wave - cold and robotic. "I like to watch."
