I agree about the book. It's on my shelf and I am selling it at Strand in New York. Like yourself I wanted behind the scenes shots. I hope Randee St. Nicholas' next book is more in line with that approach.

It could have been great as a large format hardback book.

Lotusflow3r.com because he abandonned it after a month or so. but what I wanted there was "musical" though, and there was virtually no exclusive music on it for my 77 bucks, hardly 8 or 10 tracks at best.

Ha! I joined Lotusflower.com six months before Prince pulled the plug on it and never even got a t-shirt.

I was really disappointed by Graffiti Bridge the movie.

NPGMC year 1 was awesome! Until my browser kept crashing during downloads and they wouldn't let me have another attempt to get what I paid for. After that the music club got no more of my money, yet, I still managed to get all the music, even the Lotusflower "extras". When you're trying to get people to pay for music that they can get for free you should offer better customer service. Just sayin'...

That said, I now would be willing to pay for a club membership now, assuming there would be no DRM.

I was hoping for a good document of that remarkable summer at the O2, shots from the shows, aftershows, back stage etc. "Arty" photos of hotel rooms that could frankly be anywhere was a big disappointment (and don't get me started on the accompanying CD ... removing the kickass guitar solo from Baby Love, WTF?!)

I feel the same way. I expected some "behind the scenes" pictures . . . backstage, rehearsals, aftershows, etc. What we got was basically a hardcover Glamour Shots collection!

If Prince had sold out and was selling high-end Scotch or Bentleys, these would be the photos for those ads!

I gave my book away. I kept the CD.

Agree that NPGMC got off to a rip roaring start. The audio shows were great fun and made cool mix tapes. Plus there was actually a lot of music for once. I copied all my shit to CD too so never understood the DRM complaints but, for the most part, the club really delivered until the "4 CD" derail and all the JW censorship going on in the discussion boards.

But just getting 2nd row tickets and roped off access to an aftershow was worth it for me.
