According to TheRichest.com, Prince's net worth is $300 million. Other sources claim Michael Jackson's was $500 million, and Paul McCartney's is $1.2 billion.

I know it's kinda rude to ask people what their net worth is. But I'm considering Prince and other artists who depend on record sales, performances, etc, to make a living. And I just find finance an interesting topic, an interest that runs in my family (my dad was an accountant for a major post office business).

I say Prince's net worth is a good sum, even if he was underground for most of the 1990s and early 2000s. I bet a lot of his net worth came from unreleased recordings and videos (the Vault). I also heard that Prince invested $25 million in real estate.

and the aftermath of Purple Rain and other 80's releases,

gave him the $ he needed.

A lot of the celebrity net worth cites are wrong - Prince was almost certainly not worth $300 million when he died. Or anywhere near that.
