A Caribbean home owned by the late pop star Prince—which has a driveway and a movie theater in his signature purple—has sold for $10.8 million.
Located at the tip of a peninsula of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos, the property had been on the market for a couple of years. It was scheduled to be auctioned last year, but ultimately was not sold. It was most recently listed in December 2018 for $11.8 million. Totaling nearly 6 acres, the beachfront property’s main house is almost 10,000 square feet and comes with six bedrooms, a 200-foot hardwood dock, a tennis court, a staff gatehouse and multiple cabanas. The driveway is stained purple concrete, and the home theater is lined in purple velour. Prince purchased the original property around 2011, and added two adjacent parcels over about a year, according to listing agent Nina Siegenthaler of Turks and Caicos Sotheby’s International Realty. Ms. Siegenthaler said Prince made additional changes to the home, knocking down walls to make the space more open plan. He died in 2016. “I can remember myself back in 10th grade listening to ‘1999’,” Mr. Barnes said, referring to the Prince album. “If I could go back and tell that 10th grader that some day he’d buy Prince’s house, his head would probably explode.” Mr. Barnes said he and his family had enjoyed vacationing in Turks and Caicos for many years, and wanted to have a compound large enough to host large gatherings of extended family. He said he would rent the property, which he has dubbed Emara, when he’s not there. Buyer Tom Barnes, chief executive of 319 Capital Partners, said it was a ‘bonus’ that the late pop star Prince had owned the property.

Ms. Siegenthaler listed the property with colleagues Joe Zahm and Richard Sankar, while Dee Agingu represented Mr. Barnes. Write to Katherine Clarke at katherine.clarke@wsj.com

You can find it on Zillow, too. There are a few more pics there. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

It must be a coincidence by proxy that the buyer's firm is named 319, what an incredible view and purchase. Jeux Sans Frontiers

I don't think he ever found the time to stay there often - which is a shame really.... I think he could have used a vacation sometimes. A certain kind of mellow.

You have to wonder about this... Was he a bit skint and she went halves on the mortgage

Surely this sale puts a massive dent in the tax bill. Anyone one know the status of this situation now?

Some of those comments crack me up..like the one claiming P bought the home for her and their children and put twin beds in.

He probably went in as joint ownership maybe as a payment to her for her help in managing him - you know how generous he was - why all the hate?

I've been to T&C. The beaches are beyond stunning and very nice people too. Somebody is very lucky to have this home.

I guess the new owner is going to rent it out when he is not there. We ought to get a group of us together and rent it out for a weekend! !! Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...

I'll throw in some cash for it. That place looks beautiful. Your lips would make a lollipop too happy.

Kiran being on the deed was a tax evasion thing. She, and a couple others, stripped the place of any Prince related items over the last few years unfortunately.

Well, crap, don't they always do that? At least we will have the purple driveway and the same views he had. Sometimes I look at all the things the very rich have (or had) and it just makes me sad in a way. You have so much, but the cost is too much to bear. Wish he could have had 5 kids or so with a lifelong partner and took month-long vacations down there to unwind...............
I know, I am a Pollyanna, so you won't need to bring it to my attention, LOL. Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...
