So I ended up reading the entire book since I posted and...what a beautiful experience. I thought it was only going to be pictures but the brief stories were fantastic and humanizing. The photo of Prince posing on the playground swing was heartbreaking. Such a wild ride.

Be sure to grab a copy of this while you can. It's hands down the best posthumous Prince book I've read so far.

I read the whole thing in one setting (just finished).

I tweeted that it was probably the most humanizing book I'd read about Prince to date. I don't get easily moved like that, but the playground story was pretty sad. Mostly though, the stories were incredible insights to the daily workings of Paisley Park, and Prince himself. The fact that Prince wanted Steve to paint "FREE" on his stomach for the Notorious shoot was pretty interesting. I also didn't realize (guess I never thought about it) that the Mill City poster was Photoshopped, or as Parke put it "de-pantsing Prince". HA!

I also went and listened to "Debra" by Beck (a VH1 Fashion Award performace) and totally get the Prince connection. I couldn't find The Late Show performance, as mentioned.

Also, to know Prince wrote "Welcome 2 The Dawn" based on a photo Parke took on the set of "The Holy River" set was one of the most incredible anecdotes.

Great books like this not only humanize an enigma like Prince. But they also provide a more important aspect - perspective.

It must just be U.S. It looks like the ebook is also free on Itunes and on Google PLay (US at least). Maybe one of those sites might work. Hope one of these services helps smile
