On The Couch or Satisfied If this has been done b4, I apologize. Since the concesus is that they are very similar, which track do U like better? 2 me Satisfied burns a little slower, and On The Couch is already revved up. I personally prefer On The Couch. I appreciate the organ in both tracks, I don't mind Prince singing his own backup, however thats the only thing I would change about both tracks, I've always wondered how awesome it would be with a female voice on backup, or just someone other than Prince.

Couch. It's church. "Climb in my fur."

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I don't find either of these songs boring. I prefer On The Couch. One of my favorites from Musicology.

Never been a big fan of either comparatively. Prefer call my name, insatiable, te amo corazon, get blue, scandalous, Shhh, soul sanctuary to name but a few.

That's literally the only thing those songs have going for them. Nobody does backing vocals like Prince. [Edited 6/13/19 11:00am]

I dislike both equally and never listen to them. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I got satisfied on the couch.

Neither. I don’t even remember what they sound like (except for being bland ballads Prince was doing late in his career) I don’t think I have listened to them since first listen on the albums they’re on. I probably didn’t even finish one of them lol bore fest for me

Listening to them for the first time in like 5 years, and they both still do nothing for me. It’s like he’s trying to capture a sound he use to be good at, but there’s hardly anything interesting going on in both of these tracks. I suppose Satisfied is the stronger song, but it’s nothing special like Do Me, Baby or Slow Love. The highlights of these might be excellent vocals, but he has nothing to really work with. It’s not like he has a good memorable melody to sing

Now, on his last album, “When She Comes” is much better than both On the couch and Satisfied. Stronger melody and stronger lyrics. Still boring for my taste, but makes the other songs sound like they were recorded by a 14 year old doing an impression of their favorite musician trying to impress their crush or something. Oh and even better than When She Comes is Revelation. I have to be in the mood to turn on this song, but when I am at least I’m not totally bored out of my mind. The guitar is one of his last greatest solos

Sounds like an uninspired Al Green, Bill Withers... But the strange thing is, Prince's soul songs were never like that, he always had his own unique ballad...
These two songs tbh might be some of the most boring songs he has released on any official album.

I enjoyed the live versions of Satisfied, and the audience seemed to respond to it as well.

These became a pretty templated form of ballad for Prince in the 2000s, the same way I think of Between the two, I thought On the Couch was a bit better, but that might just be because it came first. Paint-by-numbers soul, the both (in my opinion). They sound like the kind of thing you'd play at a cocktail party if the people wouldn't take no for an answer and you wanted to satisfy them quickly without bringin' down the mood.
