Musicology

They just used the song in the dance scene at the end of the season finale of NCIS New Orleans. The main character owns a bar and they usually end with a different local band playing while they celebrate solving the case. I was looking to see which band it was this time when Prince came on and they all danced. So unexpected. It was cool.

That image alone reminds me of the George Michael video, "Outside".

Haha yes, unless they have too many injuries - then they just drink and laugh, it is a TV show.

They showcase our great local live bands every episode, makes it different from the other NCIS locations. It's not an accident that Wynton Marsalis is the artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center. Or that John Batiste's Stay Human is the house band for Stephen Colbert. They are both from New Orleans musical family dynasties.

There is more spontaneous music, drinking and dancing happening in New Orleans at any moment than you can imagine. Ask anyone who loves music that's ever visited here. Dancing is not only 100% ok here, it's normal. Old people and kids too. Second line is very common. That's when people dance behind a band walking down the street. You should come here, you would love it.

Do the Palm Court strut - move your butt.

The Wire is Art - the NCIS franchise is popcorn

I mostly watch it for the local flavor. Sold them some antique chairs once, season 5, episode 1.

Faire enuff. I didn't even know that they still made popcorn police shows to be honest. But I don't really watch TV anymore.
