1. in what song does prince drop the name of a 70s hard rock band? (Hint: not led zeppelin, not whitesnake)

confused

2. in which two songs does prince mention the classical composer mahler?

Good Love?

3. which 2 madonna albums does prince mention in song lyrics? Which songs?

Well, I'd have to know the titles of Madonna albums now wouldn't I? confused

4. in which song does prince not only lift a rolling stones lyric, but a riff as well? (Hint: not honkey tonk women)

confused

5. what was the last single to hit the pop charts from Sign o’ the Times?

confused

6. prince mentions a particular film director in the liner notes to an album, then on his next album, he names a song after one of this guy’s films? Who is it?

I'm gonna guess Spike Lee. Girl 6 is the song named, though I'm not aware of Spike being mentioned in any liner notes. Was Girl 6 after Spike directed Money Don't Matter 2 Night?

7. what stanley kubrick film does prince mention in the lyrics to a song? Which song?

guessing 2001 (Osama Bin Laden Gettin Ready to Bomb)

8. what 2 prince song titles back to back form the name of a 1984 album by a canadian 70's hard rock trio?

confused

I really don't know. I'm not a big Stones fan. Did they perform the ong that day or is it something to do with a stabbing?

Edance

The director is Roger Vadim, the song named after one of his films is And God Created Woman.

The two songs in which Prince mentions Mahler are Good Love and (i think) I Hate U (remix).

very good, people! sorry about the tough questions, but i think every one has been answered correctly. i think about stuff like this all the time! what's wrong with me?
lovesexy: just a kiss away, kiss away. i've always thought that riff was stonesy, maybe not from a particular rolling stones song, but could be.
roger vadim! good answer. never saw the movie though.
good answer on i hate u maxi!

This is baffling me.

I'm trying to think of film directors that Prince mentions in his liner notes. There's Spike Lee - but we know it's not him ... there is Tim Burton. but I can't see song that Prince has written named after a Burton film. He mentions Albert Magnoli but the same apllies to him as Burton, I think. ... and there's Prince himself ... that would be sneaky if it was Prince! So I'm struggling ... but I've not given up

which means he's actually mentioned SIX madonna album titles in his lyrics. The guy must be obsessed or something.
