Anyone have any idea what the 2LP set that is showing on the page for the Rave lithograph on the store.prince.com site?

looks like an upcoming release

if you zoom in on the bit of the LP label that's showing you can see

the letters "I N A L S" under the red graffity "Prince".

i guess it's called "Prince: The Originals"

since the songs that i can make out, printed on the label, that's partly showing are:

MANIC MONDAY
100 MPH
YOU'RE MY LOVE
THE GLAMOROUS LIFE
LOVE...THY WILL B DONE
WOULDN'T YOU LOVE 2 LOVE ME?

Reports on twitter said the 1999 deluxe release would not be coming out yet instead unreleased music by WB, guess this is it...

ok, if this has "time waits 4 no one" i will shit

so there's one song at the very least that i'm quite sure we have never heard
yet in prince (and the revolution)'s version and that is "you're my love"



hopefully a few more that haven't been circulating yet.

but "love thy will be done" is super exciting, too, since we only have it in such
bad soundquality right now.

I bet it is being released same time as Rave hence why it was up on the site and in the Rave section by accident...

Or being released during the upcoming Celebration 2019.

well they might as well rush release it then i'm dying to spend some cash on new prince tunes anyway

So it has been confirmed by a leak from the star tribune that hasn't announced this yet and the rest of the press anouncement will be released on their site tomorrow.

This will be announced as an official release at the celebration event tomorrow.

Here is the short leaked excerpt:

"Coming soon from the Prince vault: A new album called 'Originals' A new album: "Originals" — a collection of his original versions of songs that he wrote for other artists — is being announced Thursday at the third annual Celebration at Paisley Park. His memoir: "The Beautiful Ones" will finally be published in the ..."

WB pulled a few dickish moves in the past but i'm sure they wouldn't release anything
on the same day as other labels right now. they'd want a bit of shine for their release,
with no distractions or confusion.

but let's hope it's planned sooner rather than later. i don't want to wait months on end
again.

I wonder if they'll include "I Feel For You". It's not unreleased and he didn't write it for someone else but it's one of the most famous examples of a song he wrote being performed by another artist, and makes the set more enticing for casuals. Useless filler for us but I won't have a hissyfit if they throw it on there.

Oh man. What if there are his versions of "Nasty Girl" or "Sugar Walls"?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Looks like Bitton already deleted his tweet. Guess he realized blaming others for "ruining the surprise" made absolutely no sense.

1. This release was probably the rumoured replacement for the 1999 Deluxe a few months ago when it was circulating that another new WB release would be in place of 1999 Deluxe.

2. The Star Tribune wrote the press release for this 7 days ago, but will be released tomorrow.

3. This release will be announced at the end of celebration event tomorrow.

4. Obviously whoever was working on the website was probably getting it ready to put it on pre order and published the picture instead by mistake...
