1-800-NEW-FUNK vinyl rerelease I searched but didn't find a topic about this. It seems that 1-800-NEW-FUNK was re-released on vinyl last month. I've got a copy on the way from eBay. Check out The Collector's Guide to Prince on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/p...4ldzxwlEuy

Seems legit. It's out, released March 2019 on a new reissue label called 8th Records. They already have a lot of great 180g rereleases such as the first 3 Shuggie Otis albums, several Miles Davis ones, Thelonius Monk, Robert Johnson etc etc. . https://www.amazon.co.uk/1-800-New-Funk-VINYL/dp/6317666954 (I know the image on amazon shows the 1994 US CD but I trust the LP is a brand new edition indeed.) . Friends don't let friends clap on 1 and 3.

. Seems anything but legit. Unknown label with a random bunch of re-releases? With no advertising et al? Smells like bootleg. Discogs comments suspect it is another (dodgy) label under a new guise: https://www.discogs.com/l...th-Records © Bart Van Hemelen

It seems to be a carbon copy of the original release. No new copyright info or new label info. Still has the c1994 NPG Records text. Sleeve and label quality seem fine. Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, I'll stick it on later. Check out The Collector's Guide to Prince on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/p...4ldzxwlEuy

Yeah it would appear so. Probably why there was no marketing for it. Check out The Collector's Guide to Prince on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/p...4ldzxwlEuy

Curious. I picked up a vinyl copy of 1800 New Funk recently still in shrink while I was in the US. It really does look exactly like the original pressing in every way, even the same hand-written numbers in the dead wax. So possibly someone has dumped some "new" old-stock on the market? The record is a little warped but plays and sounds great.
Either that or it's a better class of forgery than I'm used to.

Also got TMBGITW at the same time, both from a reputable record store (Amoeba in SF) - just as with 1800NF the paper of the inner sleeve seems a little old and the record a bit dusty. Matrix numbers in the deadwax look legit. Again, could it just be new old stock?
