That guy should release a photobook. he was there for the most awesome period of his carreer. Way more impressive than Afshin Shahidi.

I agree with you !

... the pictures of Allen, Steve & Afshin are also wonderful and different from this...
One thing is clear: ...This man is a genius !!

It's a no brainer for him to put a book out. Especially with some of these iconic ones from SOTT and Parade era's, he'd blow the others out the water.

.

Must admit him roller-skating in his Batman top in a car park made me smile, the mad little fucker

Note the "copyright by Paisley Park Enterprises" watermark. So Katz is probably not free to issue a book without the Estate's involvement. Perhaps his contract was different than what the other photographers had with Prince.
.
Btw, many of these photos were published in Controversy magazine back in the day – they're the main reason I've kept the mags.
.

I did wonder if this was the case, as other wise it seems strange not to.

Jeff Katz was always my favorite photographer, for many decades. Better than Annie.

That said, i think that SOTT album cover on that site is better than the released one!

I prefer the released version of the SOTT cover photo but it's interesting to see that they shot two batches of photos: one with a blue drum kit and a matching turtleneck on Prince and one where both the drums and his turtleneck are yellow. smile

$350 is extra for the frame, it's not the price of the photo.

Some of those pictures are great!

This person must be a narcisist if he thinks anyone will spend $3,000 to $5,000 on a photo - and that's without a frame!

Idiot!!!

Please look up the meaning of 'narcisist' and perhaps look into the prices of limited edition photograps and other artworks before you're making a fool of yourself by talking nonsense.

Prince(r.i.p.) was VERY photogenic...And was VERY meticulous about his carefully crafted, flawless, looks, & image.

I love the alternate Lovesexy tour book shots. Such an interesting shoot with all of that makeup on his face.

They're out of the range of regular folk, true, but great value as pieces of art...and limited edition prints by well-known photographers can, and do, go significantly higher.

Katz is an artist...he's the real thing and basically validates how special Prince was at the time...I mean, look how iconic these pics are? That Parade image is as fresh now as it was 30 years ago.

Shahidi, Parke and the rest are fine but not on this level (and I'm sure they'd be willing to admit this).

Jeff Katz--release that book!
