Prince Stuff You Regret You Threw Away? Stuff you once owned that you just threw away? And now you regret throwing away.
I remember a few years back I was sorting my CDs and I saw my One Night Alone Live Box. I figured no value, just takes up space. So I threw away the box and just kept the CDs. Now I see prices people are getting for the whole box and it makes me say "ouch."
I know there was others I owned like vinyl and such but that box just stood out for me.
Y'all? | |

The oversized shirts Eye Like Funky Music from the CB order, a Billboards sweatshirt and a few other T shirts..I should have just had them made into a quilt with some other music themed shirts I got rid of and never wore "Climb in my fur."

100 bootlegs on vinyl and cds.
Also tour programmes from the early 90s. All the issues of Controversy. Lots of stuff. [Edited 2/12/19 0:54am]

Didn’t exactly throw out, but when i moved out my parents house they also moved, and in the process threw out about 30 t-shirts, all the books (a pop life, imp of the perverse etc) all my tour programmes(nude tour, diamonds and pearls tour, act 2tour, ‘95 ‘Gold’ tour), and all the controversy magazines and ‘dream nation’ fanzines. Quite a lot of stuff, some of which can’t be replaced:(

I regret throwing away(or losing) all the magazines that i had that featured Prince. Basically just about everything from the 80's. That and a original 8 track of the Prince album. Also, i wish i would have kept the ticket stub from the 1999 concert. I doubt any of that stuff would be worth anything. It's just the sentimental factor. Concert t's that I felt I would no longer wear. Magazines. I had a big box of photos, clippings and whatnot - including 45rpm record sleeves that I gave to a friend and I'm nearly certain was subsequently thrown away. I think they kept my Parade song book. My granny painted for me, on canvas, the When Doves Cry face that I remember tossing out when I was moving. PAINFUL, PAINFUL....

Prince and the band t shirt right around the Come and Gold era. Prince, Mayte, Tommy B, Michael B and Sonny T I think were on it. If I remember correctly. (Insert something clever here)

Lost or threw away the CD packaging on the indy releases (eg. NEWS, One Nite Alone). Idiot!

I have a few sealed singles from that music club. I was this close to tosing them a few years ago but still kept them...UTC, Supercute etc.. "Climb in my fur."

I remember regretting throwing away my 1992-1993 concert tickets, but now I don't care. I'd rather have the audience recordings from those Paris shows (I had them on cassette but I won't ever have a cassette player again). . I hope I kept my original Batman cassette though, because it's the first Prince thing I ever purchased. I think I've kept it but I'm not sure. I think it'd be fun to still have it. I know I kept my Lovesexy tour program. . There are many maxi-singles, including some by associates, that I sold for 50 cents a piece in 2004, and the rest of my collection that I sold on eBay for a decent price in 2010, but I could sell all that stuff for so much more today... . Funny thing is I've been living abroad for almost 10 years. Most of what I had I got rid of before I moved, and what little I kept have been in boxes for so long that I think I wouldn't flinch if someone told me it has all burnt. I'll probably throw most of it away if I ever get those boxes back. You learn to live with everything you own in the world fitting in a harddrive and a backpack, and soon enough you realize you didn't need all those things you used to have. I had three chances to see him during the 3rdeyegirl concerts all within a month at three different places, 100's of miles apart. I was in those seperate places for certain reasons almost as if by divine coincidences but I passed for professional reasons I had to do and didnt want the drama of the lines etc etc. Those performances/concerts were badass from what Ive seen on youtube etc. "Climb in my fur."

Any Prince items I no longer wanted, I sold. I could never throw away anything that was still in good condition knowing someone else might really want it. And the demand, especially now is definitely there.

Im a true believer of owning only the stuff you really need in life. The more stuff you have, the more attachments you have. Life is very easy when you don't have much stuff.
I don't have my cd and album collection anymore. I bought every cd and cd single until 1995, but its all gone. And im totally fine with that.

I had a backstage pass for the 1981 Controversy concert in Dayton Ohio that I attended. I kept it for a long time but I think my father got rid of it and a bunch of other rare stuff when he moved.

i didn't throw away a thing, some of the stuff hasn't been very well preserved but I have it all.
how could I forget, i did live with a preacher for a couple years when i was 18, he burned all my prince records (along with the rest of my record collection) but I wouldn't call that "throwing away". [Edited 2/12/19 13:37pm]

i wish poplife would be re-released and updated, but the author seems to have gotten lost in the bermuda triangle or something. it was, up to that time and for many years after, the best prince bio out there.

I tend to agree but you don't need that goddamned much storage space, i had everything i owned, along with all my prince stuff in a five by five storage place up until recently.

I also was a member of his first fan club called The New Breed and had some stuff from that that got lost when my Dad moved.
