Nothing Compares 2 U FLAC Hi, I made a personal compilation from posthumous releases. I have all the songs in high quality format (from compact disk) except Nothing Compares 2 U that I bought in MP3 format. I'd like to have this on in FLAC format too. I see Tidal sell it, for 4.x euros. Someone bought it? It is a "real" FLAC or a conversion from MP3?
Thank you | |

. There are analyzers that can detect whether something was likely/possibly sourced from MP3. Imperfect though and basically still guess work, but the absence of some higher frequencies is a good indicator: https://superuser.com/a/215001/385874 . © Bart Van Hemelen

All I know is that the vinyl-only edit from the single has been ripped to flac and shared online. And idk who did this but they have my gratitude A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/ | |

Thank you Files are normally uploaded to all streaming services and online stores at the same time, and I believe the default format is lossless (then compressed by the sites if needs be), I'm not 100% sure how majors proceed thoug, but if they use such an "all at once" system, it'd make sense or Tidal would always end-up with fake flacs. Nothing Compares 2 U Tidal is lossless:
As is Tidal release of XPECTATION:
And The Slaughterhouse:
As for C-NOTE and The Chocolate Invasion, I captured the HD streams from these rather than downloaded directly, but both are lossless:
Hope that helps! | |
