...back in '84?

Say things were copacetic between Morris Day and Prince and the Time stayed together or at least long enough to do the tour for Purple Rain, how would the whole Prince and The Revolution/The Time/Apollonia 6 Battle of the Bands Tour have played out?

P had the idea of having all 3 entities tour independently to play up the rival bands theme of the movie. How exactly would this have worked? Were The Time popular enough to sell out arenas? Who would back up Apollonia 6? Would all 3 groups be performing within the same region or scattered across the country?

It was a really elaborate plan that I can only imagine the spectacle of had things worked out as intended.

That's how it seemed to be described in the PR Sessions book, at least.
