Not to mention Prince's "aah...aah... aah..."'s from 'Erotic City'. This time pitched at the "normal" speed.

In fact, I strongly suspect Prince is all over this track...

Oh hell yes nod..this is him with Sheila just doing her timbales thing I think. They collaborate so well it would have been a trip have them have done done an instrumental record. You can just tell thats Prince on the bass..he always has that "muffled" sound like he plays with gloves on. Plus that geetar hook-line...the breakdown. Whew!

Now that you mention it, it's always been something of a mystery to me why both TURN IT UP surveys continually ignore Prince's obvious contribution to this track.

I may be wrong but I always thought it was Prince invloved since it was on her b-side. I know Sheila had ehr own musicians at times but this sounds so much like Prince 1983-84 era jammin. I thought it was mentioned in DMSR..I will have to look it up.Either way its grossly over-looked imo.

Turn It Up DMSR edit:Just checked and nada..maybe I didn't look hard enough..but I would also think Turn It Up would actually be the source to have it now that you mention it. Hmmm..interesting.

Look it up by all means. But you're still right. It was definitely a grossly overlooked fact.

I have just emailed the sods responsible.

Hopefully it will feature in of one of their "updates" in a not-too-distant future...

But somehow I doubt it!

TheJoker

All those Prince/Sheila E. collaborative efforts hold a special place in my heart ~ more than half of what they worked on together was FUNKY & I'd love to hear any of those 'classics' played live, anywhere, anytime, DIG?!
