Black Velveteen by Lenny Kravitz.

i used to think he had a hand in writing that one, along with 'supersoul fighter'.

i don't think that anymore. but they sure are prince inspired tunes.

Meh I'm good. Never found him to be the most vocally captivating one.

But *unpopular opinion alert* I do love his version of Creep more than the original vers.

Covers are cute n' all, but I don't need to hear Prince sing them. He has plenty of his own music I want to hear. The only thing close is if there is a version of Madonna's "Like A Prayer". Otherwise, release original tunes from the vault.

There's no such thing.

If that's true, and it's likely, then there are no covers I want from Prince. I want the original material from the vault.

Thank God Prince didn't honor Roger Waters that hateful anti-Semite piece of garbage who says Venezuela is in good hands with a dictator.

"You Don't Have to Be Old To Be Wise" - Judas Priest

Rob Halford is/was a fantastic songwriter. Judas Priest of couse played in a metal idiom but at their core they made genius pop songs with layers and complexity which could be played by nearly anyone in nearly any style and not lose their impact.

Prince would have FUCKING RIPPED this shit.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Prince turned Creep into Electric Intercourse (live version). He made it vulnerable, desperate, pathetic... I'm fine with the original but it does little to me in terms of emotional impact, it's just another early 90's indie rock song that tries to be so detached and intellectual that it forgets the lyrics are actually talking about emotional shit. York doesn't really sound like he cares at all about the story he's telling. Now I'm sorta nostalgic of that 90's indie rock sound, I grew up with it and I dig it as is, its "I'm too cool to feel" attitude included, but the Prince version is what it should have been, it conveys what the lyrics are trying to say much more efficiently.
