Thanks for this confirmation. What would B great is 2 get inside a digital download link (mainly 4 Paisley Park). Whas it provided 4 the last 12" releases?

I think the NC2U edit is still exclusive to vinyl, am I wrong?

I wish someone would needledrop it and share the mp3 online. Someone did this for one of those vinyl-only RSD Bowie EP's, and that was the sweetest thing.

Not only can I not find bootlegs any more, I can't even find a record store near work. Not having much luck getting new Prince music to the ears lately

For all it's faults, and there are many, the point of Record Store Day is purchase records in stores. It's in the name. So in answer to your question, no you cannot officially purchase this online.

Having said that this is the Prince Estate so who knows what will happen over the next few weeks.

You should have precised : the point is to purchase records in US stores only. But still the NC2U vinyl is on Amazon, was it a RSD release too?

RSD on 13th April 2019, is not USA specific!

Nothing Compares 2 U 7inch single was not a Record Store Day release as it was released on 25th May 2018.

However, the limited edition purple vinyl sold exclusively by Electric Fetus was released to coincide with RSD18 on 21st April 2018, but this was NOT an official Record Store Day release - it was just a campaign agreed with the Estate.

The 7inch picture disc / tshirt bundles were released by the Estate and due to production issues were not released until 25th July 18, as the original release date was 29th June 2018.

For the completists among us, the digital release date was 19th April 2018.

The rule is that any leftover warehouse stock can be ordered in by any physical or digital store. I think the rule is that this happens about four weeks after RSD.

Fair play, I couldn't have remembered all that. I still haven't got my copy now that I think of it.

I'm all for record shops but I'm not going to subsidise them.

Each year I desperately hope the bands I like don't release anything on RSD!

Yet this year there are 5 releases I 'must have'.

Oh well, sometimes I feel it's fun and engaging but I'd rather stay in bed at 5am!!!

I recreated the edit from the full version using a vinyl rip as the guide. Turned out nice, I think.

Isn't it more so you can put in on a shelf, like a collector's item granted that the original cassette must be near impossible to find or extremely expensive to get on eBay?

I suppose. But I decided to get rid of my cassette player a few years ago because I never used it anyway and could use the extra space. I only had Kamasutra, NYC Live 97 and The War as cassette collectibles, anyway, and I tried to sell those but no one wanted to buy them, so I just threw 'em in the trash. (I have digital rips, of course.)
