"Meanwhile, you’re spending millions of dollars on a girlfriend who can’t sing!”
That means Prince was whipped. And you cannot reason with a man like that, even telling him he's the only one who thinks she's great. Or, rather, ask Bart about Carmen. He used to get teased about her back in the day.
He wasn't whipped by her, but he was constantly blinded by a good piece.
I've heard that she blinded him out of a million bucks.
Yes people speculated that line in I Hate U Remix was about that
He put that young pussy on a pedestal that’s for sure
"A million 8" 😲
Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.
Bart gets his info from books and articles (which are often inaccurate). There's people online that actually worked for Prince and were there.
No, I mean about being Carmen’s biggest fan on the Org.
I must have missed this over the years on a.m.p. and the Org. But if that's true, I'm LOLing like never before. His penchant for being an insufferable bore is only magnified with his defense of Carmen Electra's "music".
Y'all know he's spanked it to videos of Carmen, right?

I was saying to Databank that Bart saw in Carmen what Prince saw in Carmen. And in post #20 of this thread I noticed Data sees the power in her too. Whatever it was is why Alan inherited Ingrid, and went off.

What they saw in her is the same as what Hugh Hefner and all of the Playboy mag customers, and the Baywatch producers saw in her - a pretty piece of T (well after the boob job) and A [Edited 2/28/19 18:09pm]
This guy had the opportunity to ask Chavez a question about the night she met Prince for the first time he took her to Paisley Park, goofed up on goofballs, and didn't even broach the subject?
.
That was Prince's crossroads moment: Had he been able to handle his high, The Black Album would have been released and he would have continued in the trajectory he was headed in. Except he had a bad trip and his music gradually became predictible and safe.
. This guy dropped the ball. Maybe she wouldn't have answered in full (although she's spoken on the subject before), but he could've given it a shot.

I don't see any power in her as a musical artist really, but I don't see much power in most of the singers/rappers that reach the top of the charts either. Crap sells if it's well packaged.

For all his lack of manners, Bart actually provides a lot of useful info. Sources are what they are, they're not always accurate but it's up to us to figure out what's true and what's inaccurate.

Didn’t we all see the power. SHE IS THE SCARIEST FEMALE ON THE PLANET...
I was actually so disappointed because of this.
I was only 15 and really impressed by this video teaser with all those slogans at the D&P Tour, then got released and it blew my mind so I really expected CE to be another epic record.
Then came 1993 and I purchased it and at that stage I'd never heard a note of it because I hadn't seen the Ryde Dyvine or the first music video yet, so my expectations were still high. After a minute of Go-Go Dancer I was like WTF??!!! Then came Good Judy GF and by that point I was really depressed. Most of the album grew on me eventually, but it still was such a disappointment.

That means every man wants her, and every woman wants to be her, right?

Same here. And Billboard had a whole page of her with the small Paisey Park logo on the bottom. Had me intrigued to who and what this project was. Never got the cd as it wasnt released here in rgular outlets. Found it used in other records stores years later and felt it was meh

Similar for me. I was 16 and saw the Carmen promo on the Sexy MF VHS and was intrigued to say the least. Her album was not available in the UK so I didn't get it till years later but I got a bootleg VHS of the Ryde Dyvine and thought she was OK on that.
.
Her album is a decent companion to the Symbol album and I do like that live NPG sound on a few of the tracks, especially Just A Little Lovin' for it's cameo in the Sexy MF video.
Prince had Carmen opening for him at the start of the D&P tour. What I have read is that her performance was so bad that he cancelled her gig and fired the guys in the band. I believe her last show was one of the London concerts June 1992.

Spoken like a true historian. About your question, Prince probably thought: sex sells, it worked with Vanity, so it will work again.
