Sign "O"the Times Concert Film I watched this again the other day. It got me thinking: Was (the film) an early attempt by Prince to separate himself from Warner Brothers Records? The film was an Odeon films release & is distributed by MCA/Universal Home Video.

Nope, because he offered it to WB first and they weren't interested and turned him down.

Maybe this has been covered MANY times before ... forgive me if so.
On ICNTTPOYM ... when he's about to start the guitar solo (just after throwing flowers into the crowd) has anyone else noticed that he goes to start the solo a bar too early, realises that he's out of sync with the recording then pretends to adjust the volume on the guitar? L I'm just, I'm just Levi from the org

I think he chose Odeon to release it because they could get it out quicker than Warners could.I'm sure I read this in one of the Uptown books.

I wonder if Prince did overdubs/extra filming
for all the tracks that didn't make it onto the final film. or whether he'd already cut the film down to 'just the SOTT tracks' before he did the reshoots?
