Specifically the title track (Gold) and I Hate U. Are they good edits in your opinion, especially since the actual tracks run so long?

Yeah, I prefer the "Alternate Radio Mix with Guitar Solo" version of "Gold" because it cuts a more blatantly religious verse and brings the song to a more palatable length, but it preserves the tasty guitar solo (which is gone on some other edits).

I prefer the remix version over the album version but sometimes I´m in a different mood and then I prefer the album version but I don´t really like the edit versions of Gold Experience songs. They all feel a bit cut off to me.

The extended remix of I Hate U is a really interesting take on the original with its booming bass and especially with those funny ad-libs "U gave a dog a place to bone and now your ass is all alone" . The Forrest Gump line about the feather floating through the air is funny , too, and I love how he sings "...floating through the air.." . The album version sounds a bit more timeless but I love both.

Yes. Eye Hate U is quintessential Prince. The tone, the lyrics, the love, the hate, and especially the angry sex guitar solo. This track is right up there with The Beautiful Ones as asong that represents Prince as an artist. TGE shouldve been a massive success, but the botching timing of the TMBGITW and the late release of TGE was just silly.

There are also promo edits for Endorphinmachine, Dolphin and We March (that's from memory, I may forget a few others).

To the fans who collect everything (such as myself) the edits are important as they are clean.

From memory the single edit of ''I Hate U'' omits the NPG operator voice-over and sound effects.

I mentioned those in Reply #1. They appear to be super-rare. Has anyone here heard them? Even the Prince Vault site lacks track timing info for the "Dolphin" and "We March" edits.
