EXODUS

As a cohesive piece of work & ultimate fun this might be in Prince TOP 3 album of the 90s. Aged pretty well, always good vibes while listening and some rare cuts like Hallucination Rain.

Not sure how much EXODUS is discussd here in general, but i surely cant name a pop star who had side-project of this caliber.

Let me think about that. hmmm

My top three Prince projects (Exodus is a New Power Generation album after all and not a Prince album) of the 90s:

1. The Gold Experience

2. The Undertaker

3. Exodus or Love Symbol? I'll give Exodus the slight edge here, segues and all.

So yes, I agree. smile

Love it. The Exodus Has Begun still sounds as epic to me today. Yes MF yes.

The extended version of Hallucination Rain is pretty special too. I love the soundcheck version that leaked not long ago. What a band and era

Yes, despite those damned segues, the music and songs are some of his best of the 90s.

Funnily, I bought a new CD of this (to replace my worn out old one) just last week. Listening to it for the 1st time in ages, I gotta agree.

Love it. That entire early-mid 90s era is so wildly underrated amongst the masses.

(Insert something clever here)

The instrumental sections are classic Prince. And Sonny mimics Prince quite well.

It's kind a sriritual succussor to 1999 ina way to me. Only a bit more inclusive and organic.

I like every song on the album. Those segues get old though but my copy strips them out and subs DAys of Wild for Cherry Cherry

BIG FUN - Doin it on the one!

I gotta say that is one nasty azz groove.

-

Even the get freaky let the head bob works really well, far superior than when he reworked it for NPS.

-

This song, Return of the Bump Squad & Count The Days are just bad ass and timeless!

One of his best no one outside of the hardcores knows about. ROTBS and The Exodus Has Begun get cranked LOUD in my car...but the others are all good. I remember thinking I found the holy grail when I found the import at Tower back in 95. lol

I've dubbed this thing for my funklover friends over the years and they're blown away.

"Why have I never heard this?"

For my rock loving friends I give them The UNdertaker.

Why he buried so much great stuff is a testament to his genius and longevity but this album BANGS and deserves to be heard.
