Great link to the full video! Really LOVE the impromptu playing and the whole vibe. Although the mirage with Vanessa M is annoying, I do like the beginning scene, as I think this is Prince's way of setting up his own story - allbeit reversed. Vanessa is calling "Victor" telling him she's changed and asking him to take her back, however, since Prince had written "The Sacrifice Of Victor" (the lyrics essentially saying he had to make many sacrifices - including leaving the one he loved - in order to become the "Victor" or star), I think he just reversed the roles here for the video.
