Hi,

I just read Jim Walsh's book, the Gold Experience Prince in the '90s, which reminded me about stuff and it got me thinking. I looked around for an answer and couldn't find one. Did anyone not get their copy of Crystal Ball?

I ordered mine and did recieve it and it took about a month and this was 1997. It came with just five discs inside the round clear container. It had nothing else in it. If I'm remembering correctly, I believe they also sent me a Jam of the Year shirt too.

So after reading the book, I wondered if there was anyone that ordered Crystal Ball and never received it ?

I remember getting mine real quick, maybe 2 weeks? The reason I remember is because everyone was complaining about how long it took, and I already had mine.

i called, i mailed, i called again.

called again and yet again.....

then suddenly no more answer....

did never get my crystal ball 5 CD version, forgot about that, untill i read this thread....

Mine was significantly delayed, but I got it eventually. The retail version was out in the shops before I received my copy - that drove me nuts.

I never ordered one but I remember people complaining about not receiving it when I bought mine in the record store.

same for me. i ordered it right at the beginning and then it took the best part of a year to arrive
at my house.

so no kamasutra and no booklet and a joty tshirt, yes. so it was a bit of a mess. luckily i'm
not a big fan of the kamasutra album so it's not like a was bummed about that. but for collector
reasons it was a bit of a fuck up.

Does anyone have a pic of the t-shirt they received (I'm assuming they were the same)? Would love to see that as mine came without

I received mine, the 5-disc set in the 'crystal ball', but I don't recall what the time frame was from order to delivery. I was a bit put off that there was no booklet. Ended up buying the 4-disc set as well, so I do have a booklet. Had The Truth from my 5-disc set stolen from my vehicle many years ago and was able to get a replacement copy on eBay late last year.

I received mine pretty quickly, I remember that. It was the 5 disc version, incl. The Truth and Kamasutra.

If I remember correctly, I also got a T-Shrt and a cassette with "The War" on it. Anyone else got this as well?

I loved the CB album and also The Truth, but I don't think I ever listened to Kamasutra in it entirety...

I got it quickly and received the 5 discs incl. the t-shirt and the war cassete tape. I received it quickly in brazil and the sender payed all customs and taxes. =)

I received Crystal Ball, Kamasutra, The Truth, and a Emancipation T-shirt. More or less in march/april.

After the summer I sent a fax to 1-800-NEW-FUNK asking for The Was cassette, please, and they sent it to me some weeks after, for free.

I ordered it via a friend in the USA becuase I didn't want to use my Credit Card online and received it with a white Jam Of The Year T-shirt. Some people in the US recieved a Face Down T-shirt that I also wanted.

I got 2 copies (delivered separately) but only ordered one and was charged for both.

I did end up selling the extra for a profit years ago, but I could've done without the extra expense at the time. Real bunch of amateurs, I wonder how long post-its with our credit card details on were floating around their offices.

I got mine, but it took awhile. I think it was the version that was an actual see-through ball, with each of the CDs inserted in a slot. I'm trying to remember. That was 23 years ago....shit!

I pre-ordered, waited months, then found that the Best Buy down the street had copies in store and I still hadn't received mine. I cancelled my order and bought it in-store for less than the pre-order price, though it didn't come with Kamasutra, which I was quite OK with.

It was the "hockey puck" version, though, clear with the four CDs in slots.

Mine came in a decent amount of time (for that era). They threw in a War cassette, a few Emancipation large-fomat lyric books, and a Jam Of The Year T-shirt.

Mine took months. Long after the retail version came out. I got a Tee and War cassette too. The tee was so small I ended up using it to clean my windows and mirrors. Definately the Jam Of The Smear.

About 2 years later, I went to record fair in Wembley, London and Chris Dawson was running a stall on behalf of PP (I hadn't seen Chris in public for years) and they had a table stacked high with thousands of Crystal Ball 5 disc pucks, all sealed, for £5 each. So I bought another 4 and gave them to friends.

I never got mine.

The 5 CD Puck was also for sale at the merchandise stalls on the ONe Nite Alone tour, I bought a extra there for about $50.

I never got mine. Much to my surprise I saw at Best Buy one day and picked it. No one else I knew at that time had received theres, though they later did.
