I was at Wembly to witness this tour. It was my first Prince live show....
Its terrible I know but I cant really remember too much about it, I was 15 at the time...my Dad gave me a lift on my own (3 hour drive) and he waited in the car outside in the carpark until it had finished!!
I just wish I had taken more of it onboard at the time, I think when you are that young its hard to retain memories of such an event if yuor life!!
I just remeber being blown away.....not actual moments apart from him seeming to look staight at me (I know it wasnt but it seemed it at the time) and his look was encouraging me to dance!!!
Wish I could go back and live that night again.

Side note - I was really not fond of the beard he had going on at this time. Not the best look for him. The long hair - yes. The beard - no. His face was too "pretty" to pull off the beard.

My favorite era. It's weird to think that only 5 years before he was in the PR era. One thing 80's artists did well was change it up every era. This was the last time, to me, that he cared about his past. Not until 2010's did he really embrace all the great work he'd done.

I think he always cared about his older music - he just wanted ownership of it, so the rebellion stemmed from that issue.

I was there too! The second day we were there at like at 9 in the moring...can't imagine myself now waiting for a concert for 12 hours LOL. But we were very close to the stage. Still remember this guy shouting "look at that walk!" as Prince was running by. The first night we were pretty far away from the stage, couldnt see much because of all the rain. We were talking about the Nude tour on another thread and how when Prince performed NC2U - at the end of the song he laid on a huge red heart as it drifted back until he was laying flat. Do you remember this at the Rotterdam show? Wondering if he did that from the beginning or added it later on. Sorry, i dont remember it.

Now that night brings back memories! I couldn't find the fucking place. Ended up missing the concert and picking up a couple of hitchhikers in the hope they'd end my misery (okay I was young and dumb). They were so nice, they even offered to go out their way to take me there. I was so late I said no and went home instead

What a bummer!!! That is a shame.

On another note....now I understand the purpose for all of the scaffolding - was wondering about it while watching that short clip of the stage prep from Steve Purcell - now I see it was just to display a ginormous picture of his early symbol and a blow up of his eye

Wembley Arena. August. The first live gig I ever saw. I was 9-years old and it was an early 10th birthday present from my dad. I was blown away.
Changed my life, no doubt. [Edited 1/13/19 15:20pm]

Yep. Sat nav is a great invention - I only had an AA general map of Great Britain - no wonder I couldn't find it really . Still, I have my unused ticket stub to remind me of what could have been that night.

Somehow we all managed back then without the Waze app...but we probably missed a good concert or party here and there
